well besides that being completely stupid, do you know how much money FFXI has brought them over the years compared to ANY game they have made offline? seriously i wanna see this hilarious fact that FFXI makes them so little....really...go on.

Just so you know before server costs etc XI only brings in SE a little over 2.5 million a month... that's based on a figure of 200k subs at $12.95/mo

Now let me go look at PSN here for a second hmm FFVII was downloaded 700,000x at $10.00 per user last year wow that's 7 million dollars, lets see how much was FFXVIII downloaded o wow look 400k downloads, that's another 4 million... hmm thats what 11 million dollars on old games, yeah im pretty sure SE is in a fine position, SE roughly makes 30 million a year off XI before server and maint/hardware and people costs, so lets subtract generously 5 million that they spend on all that so that's 25 million. Now lets add in the profit off selling 700k units of software at 50 USD for XIV... o wow lookie SE made 35 million off XIV boxes last year alone... need I say more now I leave you with this...

Square Enix had an operating income of almost 13.000 million Yen in 2008/2009. 3.000 million Yen came from the online department. So that would be around 23%. That is more than I expected to be honest. I wonder how much of it ends up being a net income. I can not seem to find that anywhere.

23% from just one game is a lot, but on the other hands its just 23% when you look at the whole company ....

It's been awhile since I looked at it but iirc (And read it right at the time) it's only around 10,000 million yen and ~10% for online.
