Off topic, but: I'd argue it's not even the game at all, but the publisher and community.
If you don't like the coffee at a coffee shop when they bring out more of the same coffee you are not going to suddenly like the coffee.
This reviewer doesn't like FFXIV. Within the first few seconds of the video, he said so.
Also when your job is reviewer MMOs it can become something different when you need to make money off what you're doing.
I prefer reviews that don't interject their opinions but rather just say the pros and cons of different aspects of games. Which he has done on some of his reviews. However, a lot of his videos are click bait. A quick look he loves it or hates it no middle ground.
Also, the best part of an MMORPG is the RPG and the connection you get with your character. If all your doing is getting ready to move onto the next MMO to do the next review how can you ever invest time to enjoy your character. Also, he admits he isn't interested in playing the game and just keeps skipping the story. That's getting a ticket to a Marvel movie and coming in for the post-credit scene.

Commendations.
If I play dps I only give it out to other dps.
If I play tank I only give it out to healers.
If I play healer I only give it out to tank.
Only if they should be getting a commendation.
There are always exceptions to the rules!
The only "awful" thing I see is the video itself. It's filled with ignorance and entitlement, and presented with despicable arrogance.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6N6Lu2t6hOQ&t=5s
I feel bad for all the ppl who were thinking of trying FFXIV but gave it a pass after watching his review.
That being said, looking at his video history, this dude knows literally nothing of what makes a quality MMORPG, so it's not like any of this is relevant.
Comparing a random youtuber with "journalism" of any sort is pretty ridiculous to begin with.

If it makes you feel any better, if you start HW at level 52 or 53 (which if you do dailies should be plenty possible. The story quests will give you about 1.2 levels themselves) then you won't run into any roadblocks for the rest of the story and can get to the end of HW with little to no grind.
Ty for pointing this out, then his name truly is fitting.A reviewer's credibility is completely determined by the viewer agreeing with their opinion on games and trusting their judgement for future games. This will lose Lazy Peon many viewer/subs because the viewers will no longer trust his opinion on games anymore. He says he has been subbed for 360 days yet this link shows his accomplishments in game https://na.finalfantasyxiv.com/lodes...cter/14870856/ note this also includes a jump to 60 on his scholar. I could accomplish what he has played of this game in a week, he has not played any challenging content whatsoever only basic leveling dungeons. His video should not be taken down because people need to know that his reviewing process is as his name implies Lazy.
You cared enough to insult her. You're exactly the type of person she's referring to, too. She's not being "holier than thou", she's pointing out that disagreeing with someone should not result in being attacked. Which is exactly what you're doing to her.
Agreed! YouTubers actually research what they talk about instead of bashing players and devs that don't agree with the author's personal beliefs.
I don't really like MMORPGs, I played my fair share of them, so many thousand of hours in fact dating back to UO/Everquest but I didn't really enjoy FF14 for the most part other than the lore and FC mates. I play because I'm asked to play but Shadowbringers really hit home for me and I want to actively keep playing. It brings back nostalgia RPG elements and plays a lot more like a big budget RPG than an MMO. I always felt penalized playing XIV no matter what I did, there was always something that felt like it was a slap in the face much like any other MMO. But Shadowbringers seems to be very rewarding and I'm pretty happy with it so far. I don't know if I will ever truly get excited about the battle mechanics of this game but the changes made so far I found to be a lot more enjoyable and in the right direction. I think this is the first time where I had joined a hype train and it actually delivered.
So to Yoshi P and his creative team, bravo!
Hardly. BDO's grind is just as if not more grindy than FFXIV. The comparison stands. The comparison is valid because in one game it's supposedly ok while in another it's "THE WORST EVER". This is incongruous and biased.
WHERE IS THIS KETTLE EVERYONE KEEPS INTRODUCING ME TO?
They're actually even saying at the end of the video that they're trying to give the game a chance to reach what is the "shining" experience of endgame and that no one honestly lords this game's leveling experience as the best which is true.
I've only ever heard comments on the story which depends if you like the story or not and it's "in your face" method of getting you to follow through on it. The sale of MSQ skips alone validate that the leveling experience is lackluster and for some the story isn't worth the struggle.
Well, it is a thing to have opposing opinion, but the dude clearly just wanted to troll the XIV community.
I mean, ending your video by saying you will eat popcorn while reading comments...it is exactly the type of comment a troll would say.
