You are probably the type of player he's talking about Mr. English teacher -.- his point was quite clear there are a lot of jerks that play the game. My suggestion, find a good ls or put the group together yourself.
I'm ok with a little misspelling here and there, but it's the whole friggin post. And no, I am not an elitist. I actually have helped out many people with these fights and didn't complain once even when they repeatedly made mistakes. Way to assume that because I like people to type clearly, that I am an elitist. Good job!
Just because it's someones first time in the fight doesn't mean that they need to be carried through it. Chances are the group is gonna lose a few times anyway. They can learn the fundamentals of the fight in this time and be a somewhat good part of the team.

No, way to assume English is their first and only language. Good job!I'm ok with a little misspelling here and there, but it's the whole friggin post. And no, I am not an elitist. So spaces between words don't exist in other languages?
Spellcheck is your friend.
OP: I would like to apologize for going off-topic though. I hope you can find yourself a good LS. I've got one and it makes my adventures in Eorzea a lot more fun.

Will have to agree with this one.
OP, try to get in a more laidback / casual linkshell that does a few events, get some friends, do Ifrit with em a bit, then start joining random groups. Most random groups will refuse players with no experience, and quite frankly, nothing wrong with that. Random parties already have a harder time beating content, no need to make it even harder with someone that's doing it the first time.
Just because people aren't willing to carry you / teach you the battle or simply don't trust you will be able to do a good job regardless of your previous experience (they DON'T know you, after all), it doesn't mean they are asses, elitists or whatever.
Out of curiosity how long have you been playing? Are you in a LS? Reason I asked is cause it's seems a bit unfair to judge a whole community based on a pick up Ifrit party... I know it seems like people are trying to be jerks but in honestly alot of people have been here and still not gotten a Ifrit weapon and don't have time to "train" you. My advice would be find a LS cause a pick up party isn't the best way to learn Ifrit (let alone any EG content). This is not a solo game you have to find people who are willing to help you with EG content or you won't last long....
Wish you the best!
If a LS is not helping its members with EG content when that players hit 50 you all should scream mutiny and kill your LS leader and staff!!! LMAO!!

I read like 10 words into OP's post before I realized he should read this;
It has an identical outlook to on FFXI players.
