Q1: What was the most admiring game sold in 2011?
YoshiP answers Skyrim and says that there are lots of things to learn from it, lots of things to use as a reference and he also feels mortified over the game.

Q2: Which game sold/announced in 2011 left the most impression for entertainment?
YoshiP answers Monster Hunter Portable 3 - says he didn't have much time in 2011 so only other game he could play more aside from Skyrim was MHP3. This game has lots of volume, multiplay, and mainly the produced work. He started playing the game at later date (later than release date) but been playing while commuting so the play time is crazy now

Message for game fan for 2012 (this one I'll direct translate)

While moving through the dark stormy sea the voices/cheers of FFXIV fans/players was like a guiding light from a light house which led me this far. In 2012 we will finally face the main stage of 7th Umbral Era. I hope as much players can try/play this even and would like to keep on moving forward to the New FFXIV which lies ahead!

     これからも多くのお客様に楽しんで頂きたいと思っておりますので、引き続きのご声援、宜しくお願い致します!

    I love monster hunter too

I love the armor system, and how full armors can give you good or bad abilities, but you can still counter the abilities/customize your armor with decorations and stuff (though I think that's only in the more recent games..)

Either way, it's so easy to lose hundreds of hours in those games >.>

For him to say that he's mortified (not sure if I'm using the word correctly) on the interview really shows how YoshiP is imo. Reading other creators reviews some of them are conceited about their own game and even when asked what game is most inspirational or fun, they try to promote their own, YoshiP didn't do that and being able to say something like that shows he knows what he needs to do to really improve FFXIV. I hope he can lead the dev team full on and make something that can meet lots of players expectations like how Skyrim did on release for most players waited for that game.

So you enjoy hurting others with your version of the "truth" on forums about dead video games? You must be a hoot at parties man. Thursdays gonna make you a lonely galka, but I bet your willing to pay a monthly fee to keep this sort of torment up, as thats the type of guy you seem to be.

Of course, that's just one site's list of reviews, so let's check out an aggregate score on metacritic:

Ouch. How's that rate against other MMOs? Let's see:

Well, there is ten of the bigger MMO releases, all of which did better than FFXIV. You can continue to stack up scores against it, but the results are much the same. Although not entirely objective, you can see from mmorpg.com's list that it rates pretty close to the bottom of the MMOs which they have reviewed, substantiating Biggs's claim that it is ONE of the worst rated MMOs in history.

Skyrim has received over 50 perfect scores, and has taken its place as one of the top reviewed games on PC, 360, and PS3 on metacritic. Again, Biggs said "one of the best," which it is. Claim substantiated.
Not too many other games can boast that many perfect review scores. Maybe Ocarina of Time.

    http://deltagamer.com/20526/skyrim-g...illion-dollars

It is the first western-made game to receive a perfect score from the Japanese gaming magazine Famitsu, which is a feat in itself.

From the previous linked article: ""The overwhelming detail packed into the game really pulls you in," Famitsu assistant editor Norihiro Fujiwara wrote in his review. "From the music to the story and setting, everything is excellently done -- the main story isn't all that long, but there's an extremely large selection of subquests. Even the area around the first village you visit is packed with just a shocking amount of detail and volume." So while it is anecdotal evidence, Fujiwara is a journalist for a magazine that rarely gives out perfect scores, yet has given one to Skyrim for reasons much the same as Biggs listed. Of course, Fujiwara isn't the only one handing out a perfect review, and many other publications praised the title based on the immersion provided by the world that Bethesda has created.

Let's take a look at the first player poll, which attempted to figure out what issues players had with the game.
The question in particular is: 7. Which of the following issues you would like to see addressed first? (Choose only one)

The majority response was 36.8% that the lack of in game content needed to be addressed. Over everything else the majority of the player base wished to see more content before any other fixes, which indicates it is a main issue that people had with the game, just as Biggs claimed.

Since the staggering amount of sales and perfect reviews Skyrim received aren't enough to convince you, and my anecdotal recollection of Yoshida saying many people complained that FFXIV didn't feel 'FF enough,' and adding Ifrit and airships were measures to address that complaint will probably also have little effect, I think I'm done here.

    Troll scenario;

What's that? A thread about something I disagree with? I better go take a look!

    /enters thread

Let's read what these people have to say.

    /disregards OPs post

Wow this guy paid this much for a computer? Ha! I'll just quote him and post about how I paid less and how silly he is. He'll be praising the Gods for this excellent information I have provided for him.

    /more lurking

Hmmm, I can't seem to find anything worth responding to. What's the main topic again? Yoshida appreciation thread or something?

I'll just say the opposite of what the majority says. I'll quote anyone who doesn't state that their subjective posts are obviously opiniated, and I'll call them out on being objective, false information spreading liars! That'll go over well.

FFXIII-2 has been recieving perfect scores as well -- By the logic of the overtone "Skyrim has perfect scores so its a perfect game", we won't hear any complaints when XIII-2 hits western shores, yes? Since perfect media scores = perfect game, based on what I'm reading.

    Quantum,

What makes TES so awesome, IMO, is it's continuity from game to game. The fact that there are tons of things to do in the TES series, at least from TES III - TES V, is great, I get my monies worth from those games. What also gives TES an "Ooohhh and Ahhh" factor to me is the fact that the lore and culture is consistant. There is so much history that Bethesda has created to make their game feel alive.

To me it's like TES is "The Lord of the Rings" of gaming. And TES isn't stopping at Skyrim. Skyrim is only once provence out of how many in Tamriel? And then there are the three to four other continents that I think should eventually be made into a game by TES. They have a map for the continents outside of Tamriel.

I am hoping that eventually FFXIV will have the same sort of feeling that the TES series does when I pick one up. As of now, it doesn't, for me at least, and anyone who has played them, would know how rich their story line is alone, and not just the main story line...also the other storylines of the Mages guild, Thieves guild, Figher guild, The Great Houses, The Televanni *sp*, The Dark Brotherhood, the Daedric quests...and on and on and on that add history and life to that world...

Skyrim does have a lot of story, but we can't kid ourselves..they're generic fantasy storylines we've heard a million times before lol, some even presented in much better fashion.
