Male Viera as a playable character! show your support

There were Lore arguments against the implementation of both Hrothgar (well, best races), and Viera, so I don't see how Lore is the end-all break-all now lol
Beast Tribes aren't welcome in Ul'Dah or Gridania (and the Kobolds were betrayed by Limsa), so any bestial race would have to face that Lore... until Hrothgar, and it seems the Hrothgar only skirt not being one by... sharing speech with the Spoken... which the Syphls do, too. Heck, the Lalas are a beast tribe in the First...
The Viera Lore excuse was... flimsier

It's pointed out in the Blu quest that if your people are not listed in the list of beastmen you can chill in Uldah.

Remember, Beastmen was first a term made up by greedy forks to push out certain races so that they couldn't make dealings in Uldah.

As the rules go from the Blu quest, if they didn't know the race they couldn't have listed them in the "stay OUT" law and as such they are allowed in.

That being said I do expect some story about Hrothgar's conflicts with the other races to be a thing somewhere down the line. Maybe in 6.0, like how HW didn't really deal with the Scale peeps but ShB had a crap ton of story with them.

I say: female hrotgar should be the ones exploring. That's taking out hrotgar? I think I'll just ignore this because I ain't gonna start another drama here, we've had enough. So, topic switching, do u think fem viera will get the new hairstyles?

Depends on whether they make them bestial like males, or just a waifu covered in fur. First one, probably they won't get it. Second one, most likely.

I stated severalt ime I want female hrotgar to be bestial as males, in fact, if I had to choose, I'd personally like something akin to a charr situation

I think it'll quieten down for a while when the expansion comes out. I know I'll be far too busy with the new content to bother posting much for the first week or two.

Viera will most likely get the hairstyles everyone has right now, but probably at a later date. Probably same day Hrothgar get more mane/face options.

So I've been thinking about lore again and what Yoshi-P has said. He said that we'll be hearing about the existence of male Viera and female Hrothgars in some shape or form, but then I got thinking... is he talking about Hrothgar and Viera? or Ronso and Vii? We're going to the First, so any lore we learn about Ronso and Vii on the First cannot be treated as Hrothgar and Viera lore (one example being that Lalafells are 'beastmen' on the First. Almaj'aa lore might be completely different, too, since they also live on the Crystarium with the other Spoken races). So even if we see a male Vii, they'll still need to figure out how to make the male Viera playable due to their lore restrictions (since SE do love to restrict themselves with their lore).

Though I suppose making the Golmore Jungle something we can never explore (keeping it as an instance zone only, like Xelphatol) might be the best bet to make them playable. Left jungle, branded as exiled, only in Jungle for short time (kill Ultima), not killed dead for being traitor to the woods.

I like the idea of having male viis and female ronso really. I think it would also eb good for those who really care abotu lore and think that races should be genderlocked because of it. This allows for a win-win situation, and a very good writting oportunity

You can't really have a Charr thing going.

The Charr are as much animal as they are man, their bodies don't have the same shapes as us. They don't have human like sexualdimorphism because they look so far removed from human.
Female Charr don't have to deal with human breast for example, they're just horn cat monsters like the dudes.

I find it very odd you bring this up so often, you either don't realize what you're asking for or don't care about Female Hrothgar and just want them to slap small boobs on the men and be done with it cause that's faster than making a new female body shape...

That's actually a good...plot hole - for lack of a better word. "mViera" and "fHrothgar" might be rare, but mVii and fRonso may not. Maybe they'd be able to jump to the source somehow as new allies, just like Ukelele* did.

*I call him Ukelele because I can't ever remember his name, the white robed kid that unlocks the warring triad quests.
