Oh, thanks for the info! I just love Spriggan as a name for server but sadly I’m in the US.![]()
And yet what data center came up with the largest population in the latest Lucky census?A lot of people I know consider Crystal a dead datacenter, for everything outside RP. Raiding /end game content ETC mostly because of Balmung. I know several who gave it a chance and jumped ship. Housing otherwise wouldn't be a good metric for this since a lot of people tie housing and RP together.
Crystal.
If all people care about is raiding then yes they're going to consider Crystal dead. It's very lively in other aspects of the game, though. The game world doesn't revolve around raiding nor does the data center revolve around Balmung.
Again, Crystal is doing just fine.
Actually Raiding/questing/msq completion etc is the core of the game. If you like RP, Crystal I'm sure is great. But to many stories of people trying to RP in dungeons and ruining the run etc have driven people who *actually* play the game as intended away. Hence the reputation as a dead data center. You haven't really countered the argument just reinforced it. If you like the way Crystal is, thats fine. But don't get defensive because other people consider it dead for what the game is actually built around. And yet what data center came up with the largest population in the latest Lucky census?

Yup. Look at Aether and primal as of right now.If Crystal is so full then why are all the preferred NA servers on Crystal? Looking at this census thread the most housing is also always on Crystal. There is a reason FCs and people left Crystal datacenter and left their housing there. They keep transferring to Aether and Primal. And it's true, a lot of people on Balmung / Mateus have alt toons that's why the population seems so high.
I personally was on Crystal datacenter on my alt toon and I moved that to Primal after a week of horrible duty roulette. Goblin itself was absolutely fine and lovely, I really liked my FC as well. I know they did farms and had a raid group. But for queue times, they were high, people spammed emotes / macros in dungeons instead of actually dpsing or healing, and I finally quit when this dps from Balmung was harassing me in Aurum Vale. While he was dying to aoes and our whm (also from Balmung) was RPing, this dps was typing toxic things in chat. Crystal might be ok in the future but while I was there I had an absolutely horrible time, especially compared to when I log on to my main character. People who are already on Crystal with formed FCs and formed raid groups will be fine because they're not affected. People who pug and do random roulette are probably the ones leaving, like I did.

Before the NA data center change happened, what were the preferred NA servers?
Brynhildr
Coeurl
Diabolos
Goblin
Malboro
Zalera
Those names look familiar? SE bundled up every preferred world in NA and stuck them all in Crystal along with Balmung and Mateus. Is it really any wonder that the only remaining preferred worlds in NA happen to be worlds that were preferred in the first place?
Did I ever state that Crystal was full? No, I said Crystal was fine. If people were abandoning Crystal in droves like some of you have been trying to imply, then all 6 of the worlds that were preferred before the data center change should still be preferred. Instead only currently 3 are. The population here has grown whether you guys want to believe it or not, just as the population has grown on the worlds in Aether and Primal.
Ask yourselves why you're so obsessed with the population on Crystal when you don't play here. What does it matter to you when it's got nothing to do with your queue times or party finder listings? Maybe stick to worrying about what's going on in your own data centers instead of taking pot shots at another one.
If we are as low pop as you're implying, at least we'll be getting to play the game next week while you're stuck in neverending queues. Enjoy!

Enjoy!Other preferred worlds that were preferred before and after the datacenter split: Midgardsormr, Siren, Lamia, Hyperion, Famfrit, etc on both Primal and Aether. There's the census you're referring to in your comment yesterday about Crystal being high pop, and then there's what square enix themselves have announced today for preferred, standard and congested servers. You yourself said Crystal datacenter has highest population when in aether you can't even make a character on any server at peak times and it has 5 congested worlds, not 1. No wonder there's no housing available in aether. And yet what data center came up with the largest population in the latest Lucky census?
Crystal.

And going back to counting houses in this thread - Famfrit today had 5 small in lav beds, 2 in Mist, a couple in Goblet. No mediums. The plots from the big demo day are getting snatched.
