Actually, it is a lot more simple than that. They just reused the female Miqo'te body, copy and paste with a larger height slider (height enlarges dimensions).I have to agree with this, the female viera have more curves and seem to be more muscular than Elezen. I put it down to them probably eating more meat as well as the environment they live in. With Viera taking care of the forest I think they're less inclined to eat vegetation and tend to eat meat more. Perhaps like Bosmer where they eat meat only?
That's my miqo'te preset btw.![]()

I know the sequence of events in which you were wrong in every one of them.I did not see anything by you that served to dislodge that argument other than by once more over-simplifying the challenges in actual northern forests, claiming you could simply retreat to caves (again ignoring the difficulties of gathering perishable foods in such a climate that is meant to last for extended periods, in a non-agrarian society) and then moving the goalposts to temperate forests, claiming bears are pack animals (which is nonsense, and irrelevant), ignoring the fact that there are forest-dwelling big cats, and then claiming
that both bears and wolves are a non-issue because they can be dealt with through traps or archers...
...and then attempting to foist your caricature onto the Shroud, because otherwise your argument falls flat.
You're talking about ice age winters, over 8K-10K years ago the way you describe it. I was talking about how forests have been for over 4K years; squirrels and the occasional bear/wolf you can keep lookouts for and archers. A few cats exist in some areas of Russia/Siberia, very isolated, and at that point you're talking about Thundras and no longer forests.
You seem lost and to not understand that a fictional book or game uses real life to base its reality from.
Jungle elves don't exist.Except for those fantasy settings in which they do exist.
Oh but they are very different, as I have explained already.Aha. For better or worse, the female Viera are not much different to Elezen, in all honesty.
Neither do yours, jungle elves is rather comical.I am all for bulky Viera males, but the arguments you are putting forward regarding elves simply do not hold up.
That's not how Sephiroth and Elezen look though, which is what I see being suggested.I mean look at this guy:

I hate to be the one to break this to you, but none of us know how m.Viera will look if/when SE decides to release them. What you've posted is simply concept art. If they end up looking like that, hey, cool! But lets not forget female Au Ra concept art.No, I wasn't using real life. I was using location differences. A forest and a jungle are 2 different things whether in Harry Potter, in a children's book, or in FFXIV. In any fantasy setting that includes elves they would never be located in a jungle. (Female) Viera do exist in XIV and they look nothing like Elezen, specially face/head wise. Those wanting Sephiroth (male) Viera are in for a surprise. They're going to look rough, nothing like an elf

In regards to the similarities between f.Elezen and Viera, they are definitely there. I'm having a hard time understanding how you think they look absolutely nothing alike. I guess if you're just comparing the heads that would be the case, but when comparing the bodies I cannot agree with you. They're not identical as I mentioned before, but they are really quite similar.
But at any rate, in my head I picture them as a mix between Elezen an Au Ra - maybe something similar to a swimmer's body, but I'm open for variety. I think the only thing that doesn't really work in my head would be a super bulky/buff version, but to each their own on this bit![]()

Very much so, it's like people only see a difference in body and facial/shape shape/style only when it's between a male Roegadyn and a Midlander.I have to agree with this, the female viera have more curves and seem to be more muscular than Elezen. I put it down to them probably eating more meat as well as the environment they live in. Right but then there's this. Concept art, specially when it's in the final stages (as the male Viera seems to be) does indeed end up being the end resultI hate to be the one to break this to you, but none of us know how m.Viera will look if/when SE decides to release them. The female Au ra art looks like a very early concept with no details compared to male Viera and Lupin.
Reading?
Let me quote myself

How are you figuring male Viera is in the final stages of development? SE has made no concessions about being able to add them to the game. I get that people want Viera, and they want them to look a certain way, but it seems like you're jumping to a lot of conclusions.
I'm hoping they aim at Au Ra bulk, with a muscle tone slider, but anywhere between Elezen and Au Ra in build would be welcome. But at any rate, in my head I picture them as a mix between Elezen an Au Ra - maybe something similar to a swimmer's body, but I'm open for variety. When the game's story becomes self-aware:
I'd be happy with Au Ra bulk, but I really hope they don't have the same issue with the waist. The Au Ra waistline is always something that puts me off. Either the waist needs to be broader or the hips and shoulders need to be brought into line.
Indeed. Whether they go closer to Elezen or Au Ra, or somewhere in between, the model needs to be free of such shortcomings. I personally consider that they should avoid the impetus to do "x race right", and should instead go back and improve on those models where they can, but they seem reluctant to do this on the view that some players may dislike it. I am sure that they will find most players playing the race/gender combo play it in spite of such issues. At least then they can focus on making something truer to their concept for Viera males, whatever that ends up being.

When the game's story becomes self-aware:
we are certainly uncertain about how far theyre into male viera's development, but I do guess that they maybe have already finished the concept stage before they start working on them at 5.0, but I don't think we'll hear from them about this until they are finished
