Viera and Hrothgar Naming Conventions?

Judging by some research I've done, the names are likely to be Nordic/Scandanavian as apparently the Viera from XII were given Icelandic accents (specifically with Fran) and the names seem to match that kind of style.

I can't say for sure, I'm not remotely clued up on Icelandic names. But I think it'd be a safe bet to assume it for a baseline. As nothing was noted in the live letter last night, I will guess we'll be waiting until next week or the 27th for the real naming conventions. I've got a feeling they might be snuck in with the Pixie language thread.

The only names we have for Hrothgar(the race name, Queen Gunnhildr) are Danish and Swedish.

It kinda is acient nordic. Not modern Danish or Swedish tbh. So if people want to name their Hrothgar going with names of viking kings/gods or heros would suit them just fine.

Also names for Viera could be; Ayla, Tana, Zarya, Miha, Jasha, Vesna, Ana, Zita, Ema, Alena, Ani, Iva, Dusa, Fiala, Kveta. All short slavic or slovak names.

While I do think the Rava will probably follow a four letter name rule kinda thing (like Fran and Lyna), Veena might be completely different. The sub races so far followed (sometimes very) different rules.

Queen Gunnhildr Sveinsdóttir's reign as Queen of Sweden lasted from 1022 to 1050

Queen Gunnhildr Gormsdóttir(historical existence disputed) of Norway lived from 910 to 980

Hrothgar is believed to have lived around 500.

She's also a Viis, and considering how radically different the naming convention for the other races are, I'm hesitant to use her as a guide for the Source's Viera.

I believe it was said a while ago that names are different on the First. Even the race names are different.

So for Hrothgar, based on the random generator they appear to be highly influenced by Slavic names. Like, most of the first names are legit actual Slavic names. The Helions last names seem to be A+{name} (although most of the names that they use in the random generator are female) and The Lost have {name}+sch.

FWIW Mir-/-mir meaning peace and Slav-/-slav meaning glory/fame/celebration are super common roots.

I couldn't tell you for Viera I'm afraid.
