Trust Companions of 2.0 to 4.X

Ooh, that would be fantastic.

If they're tying trusts to what characters are available in the story at that point, it causes issues because our would-be trusts usually have a canonical reason to be elsewhere while we tackle the dungeon.

But Estinien and Ysayle (and Alphinaud) would absolutely work for at least Sohm Al and the Aery, as long as we can find a tank. Could make Estinien a tankier version of dragoon, or maybe Ysayle can transform into Shiva because there's so much ambient aether to draw on.

Sadly, no Alphinaud or Ysayle for the Aery.

In the quest "Ready to Fly", Estinien dissaudes Alphinaud from joining, and its a voiced cutscene, so difficult to rewrite, I would have thought. Also, Ysayle is moping over at Zenith at this juncture, so out of action as far as the plot goes. It's a lovely idea, to increase Trusts to include every 2.0-4.5 dungeon, but I can't see there always being readily available NPCs on which to draw, sadly. At the very least, it may be possible to retrofit those dungeons where, like you've already mentioned with Sohm Al, a gang of NPCs is on hand to jump in.
