Neither. I see your point here, and am merely shocked by how severe it is, since I hadn't tried making an Elezen since 1.x and have zero interest in bunny-girls.
I, not at all figuratively, could not and still cannot tell the difference between the face options if accounting also for the possibilities of distinct nose, mouth, jaw, and eye shape options.

The elezen options very much just show 2 face options, with the other 2 being very slightly modified versions of them, whereas (saying this as someone who has played with the character creator for both elezen and Viera), each Viera face has a different Jaw shape, lip shape, eye shape, eyebrow shapes, and different tattoo options.

Yeah man... I was able to tell right away that female Elezen's only have two faces. Face 1, Face 1 with make-up, Face 2, Face 2 with make-up. It's really bizarre that other people can't seem to tell? It was obvious right away to my eyes.

None of the other races have been treated like that. The other races have four actual different faces. And I can clearly see that while the head shape of the Viera is all the same, the actual features like the eyes, nose, and mouth are all different between the four heads, unlike Elezen.
