Enhanced Ruin II procs Ruin IV @ 15% with pet action lv. 62 trait

15% is low, but not low enough to only proc Further Ruin a single time in 6 minutes.

For anyone unfamiliar, this is the video we're referencing: TITANIA E3 SHADOWBRINGERS (NO CLEAR)

Further Ruin procs a single time at 0:24 and then never again for the rest of the fight.

What can I say, 15% is 15% lol. It would be silly to have a trait the give 15% and another that gives 100% on the same actions.

But at Lv.62 when you learn Ruin IV, that "silly trait" that you also gain is the only way you can use the spell.

I have a feeling they changed Enhanced Ruin II trait to be, "Grants a 15% chance on use of Egi Assault I & Egi Assault II to trigger Further Ruin." ...And then 12 levels later it becomes a 100% chance.

I wouldn't put it past them.

The thing is, the tooltip on Enhanced Ruin II still matches the current tooltip it has in game. It doesn't say "Egi Assault I and II", it says pet actions, which includes the assaults, Egi auto attacks, Bahamut and Phoenix's triggered attacks, and all of their respective Enkindle actions. It's more reasonable to assume that the Enhanced Egi Assault tooltip is the one that's wrong here as it says "Egi Actions", which is both too general and doesn't match the gameplay we've seen thus far. It should only refer to Egi Assault I/II based on the trait itself. More importantly, we know there's a line drawn between the Egi and pets in general with the use of those terms in the traits themselves, as well as their names implying they should be thought of independently. Not only is it likely that these traits are not related, it's possible these effects stack. Meaning Egi Assaults have a 15% chance to give two Further Ruin stacks but always give you one. And given how little work was put into changing Bahamut from the other pets in the first place, I think it's a safe bet to assume this hasn't changed either.

That all said, thank god the aetherflow lockouts are gone. That's the only thing I wanted out of Shb SMN to begin with. I'll take not getting a major advantage out of downtime like most classes just to not deal with that crap anymore.

Thanks to all who voted on my sig poll btw.

Mechanics are Aesthetics. Graphics don't make interesting gameplay.

Except the level 80 in the media tour has two traits. One for 15% @ 62 and Egi Assault for 100% @ 74, both separate. I would guess they need to fix the wording in the tooltips. Enhanced Ruin II will be normal in that a pet action has a 15% chance to grant Ruin IV. Enhanced Egi Assault will grant Ruin IV 100% when Egi Assault is used. I watched Larry's video and Garuda gave Ruin IV with just Wind Blade (Auto Attack)
