I currently do let others know about the forums in game. I do agree with most of your points, but also, both of those popular threads get 2-3 new posts every day, which is the same amount of posts this thread gets from new pplI support the idea of having both of the missing genders, since it's something others want. But what this thread has become is not a way to show support. If those in charge of relying the situation here to Yoshida were to tell him that the majority of the thread is the same handful of people arguing most of the time with each other and sharing art, a bunch of people trolling them, and a number of likes that is barely changing after the first few days of the thread's creation, then this will give him the indication that it's just an outburst from a vocal minority that faded away and all that remained is the same handful of people trying to keep this thread alive by any means.
If something was popular on demand, then it won't need the same people bumping it up by sharing art or arguing with each other. It will need a lot of people engaging in the discussion. The "tales of duty finder" and "show your" are perfect example of a popular thread. In my opinion, I think that the best way to show that people truly support this idea, is to spread the info about this thread in the game itself. Everyone says that not a lot uses the forums or don't know about this thread, then why not let them know about it? We currently have the highest number of active characters that are online to date. More players are coming back to the game that couldn't show their support before. The more people know about this thread, the more attention and traction you'll get. Sure you might get trolls also, but they can't stop the surge of likes from those that are in support. I just hope they don't get deterred by the recent posts.
That too is another big issue. Removing the pictures of children would be a good thing from the OP, since Yoshida himself made a statement regarding that it's not an option.

While the number of posts has lost relevance a while ago, the number of likes is still a little relevant given that it keeps rising (at a snail's pace, granted, to the tune of 1-2 every other day), meaning that, as more people become aware of it and express their support in what way they please.
That said, I believe the thread has fulfilled its primary purpose of bringing the issue to the dev's ears and I'm staying as optimistic as possible (Oh, what I'd give to see a Viera in 5.1 go "I had help from of our Warders in fleeing the Woods, but we got separated before reaching Lea Monde, I hope he's alright").
I think it's his right not to do so, but it does allienate some players from out cause. Though when Yoshida confirmed no children, many players who were against it wanted male viera then
I mean, if we're being blunt, ever since it was confirmed 'cute and shorty' Viera to be a solid not gonna happen, the riot has been largely pacified, with the only argument left being whether they'd be added at all.
I mean what I take when they say irrelevant for at least 2 years they probably are not wrong in terms of the dev team inportance with the developers. I doubt either of the genders are on their radar ATM nor will they be unless some staff work on them on the side, but I doubt that would be the case regarding adding full genders into the game. If they release these before 6.0 and later down the line we end up having other content cut I doubt that will go over well. My guess 6.0 will be the earliest we see them.

Didn't they acknowledge that genderlock was an issue in 1.0, and then gave us other options in ARR? And now there's some new additions, but they didn't outright say there won't ever be other genders, right? There's still a chance for them somewhere down the line. He also said Viera were likely the last race, and then out of the blue we got Hrothgar, which is awesome that they went through so much just for us. Really hoping on some lady cats, but until then I'll be satisfied with Viera girls.
Same logic for if we do not get them. If you don't like it, don't play any other race.

Or ask the devs to add them. As we’re doing. You seem to have an issue with that. Why?
I kinda want male Viera to look similar to Blade and Soul's Gon race, Very similar to the concept art
Main point being how they adhere to the FFXIV concept art.
