Male Viera as a playable character! show your support

Only if it's as NPCs and not as potential playable races. If the latter, then it just causes story issues to arise (why and how did someone from the First come to the Source before all this travel stuff became common knowledge to the players character?).

Same as why would Yugiri hide her face in fear Eorzea would freak out at the sight of an Au ra....while talking to an Au ra /shrug

And even though it's non canon, they could use the same excuse as the FFXIV x FFXV crossover did - randomly being spirited away by some portal.

That's a little different. Au Ra exist on the Source. Vii and Ronso do not... but Viera and Hrothgar do. I've already placed a reason on how male Viera could potentially be playable, however it would mean we can never have the Golmore Jungle be a place we can explore (not that we would/could anyway. Again, lore reasons). The how they could be playable then becomes a players decision.

• Born outside of the jungle.
• Managed to survive leaving the jungle.
• Lore shmore I'm a dinosaur.

It also makes things less confusing for new players, who may or may not know that Vii = the Viera of the First (which would also be a spoiler, if they're starting from the beginning and have no idea what a First is).

I think that considering the reason why 20% of the population are catboys is so they can get stronger, there won't be any prolem making male viera playabke

Also, I find it hilarious how ppl are convinced that I don't care about female hrotgarwhen I wannamake a fem hrotgar alt, and I even said that I think thye should get more resources than male viera, since they're harder to do right

I have an alt as well and still dont play it. It doesnt matter if your alt is a fem Hrothgar or not. What counts is if you are going to play one as your main and if it will be worth the development. I can say things first and act different later too.

I can be extremely mad 1 week after the male viera announcement and once things calm down change my point of view on something, like many (most, in fact) of the ppl on this thread do. I don't really get why ya'll (not directed towards u in particular) love drama against me so much, but like I said, I won't feed into it

It doesnt matter if your alt is a fem Hrothgar or not. What counts is if you are going to play one as your main and if it will be worth the development.

Just a note, but some folks do make use of alts either for raiding, crafting, gathering, roleplaying, or just for goofing around with a different face. I've got 7 lv 70s geared and ready for SHB, and 2 characters working through SB. My alts count as unique active players on censuses lol

Agreed. I had 7 max level characters with multiple maxed jobs at one point, and abandoned 3. I only have 4 right now, but they all have their roles in my gaming. They're all different races too.(For roleplay reasons, of course)

I'd say they're roughly equal in terms of options. Hrothgar are more interesting to me since they're genuinely something different to everything else so far. Viera are...alright but they're just more 'waifu bait' in a game already focusing a little too much on such things.

I'm also inclined to take the development team at their word. Yoshi-P is very passionate about the game and I do not think he would actively lie to the game's fans.
