    I could see it being a bit of a grind from 51-55ish due to so many of the mats coming from timed nodes, but that complaint went away with the addition of moogle quests. Hell it was mitigated with levequests as it was in ARR. Crafting is only had painful as you want to make it especially this late in an expansion's cycle and can even be done passively as Canadane said.

    And as for making it a one-click process: sorry no that's actually stupid and boring and thank god they made it its own form of mini-game and leveling process and also isn't anything close to XI's crafting system. And just in case, I'm not a die-hard crafter defending the only thing I do, I always max out every combat class first and usually drag my butt on getting crafters maxed til .2 or .3 in an expansion.

    As much as I get frustrated at things like timed nodes for mats, I agree.
    I had max level crafters in EQ, EQ2, and WOW - and for the most part it was a joke. It was so easy, especially in EQ2 and WOW that it was essentially worthless. In EQ2 mats were so easy to get that the guild mat chest was often maxed out on many - and the limit was 10,000 per mat. Once again, mats were almost worthless along with almost all crafted gear. The only exceptions that made any crafted gear "rare" was that some mats were locked behind raids - and I really hated that.

    While you and some other might think that is a good idea - from my experience in other games I can assure you it is not. What ends up happening is that crafted gear and mats are so easy that they essentially become worthless and not worth the effort to make or try and sell. Kind of like in real life trying to sell your skills at walking and chewing gum at the same time.

    It was toned down with the new set of skills we got that basically made having other crafters leveled less important. And no, I do many other things in the game besides crafting so probably shouldnt assume things like that.

    Heard in forum read Yoshi didn't like over melding and would allow it in 5.0. Never knew you could over meld normal stats because thought they was always maxed out on gear stats you used. First heard it from ones in my fc and on novice network once.

    Because those things aren't actually worth anything to begin with. That's why so many people got in a tizzy with world visit because their little monopolies were in danger of being made nothing. That's the problem though, things are too expensive and everyone thinks things should sell for way more than the time or effort put into this is worth, and the reason they are expensive is because there isn't enough competition to shove down prices. And people hate competition so they are all for not improving things so more people will want to do something. It's greed. Ya'll can call me greedy for wanting everyone to not get pissed at crafting but the real reason is you guys just want to keep prices high and keep making money. Nothing is worth as much as you yourself think it is.

    You could always over meld main stats as far as I know, but the gains were usually zero or close to it. I just looked at all my current gear, and only one is not maxed on the main stats, and that is only by 2 points. But it will all be moot soon anyway, as it seems that all main stat materia is totally going away.
