Personally think you get enough warning already.
30 days of inactivity: A notification indicating that the estate is being prepared for auto-demolition will appear in the Timers interface in the Duty tab of the Main Menu.
35 days of inactivity: An e-mail will be delivered to the registered e-mail addresses of all free company members, or the owner of a private estate, indicating the estate is being prepared for auto-demolition.
42 days of inactivity: An e-mail will be delivered to the registered e-mail addresses of all free company members, or the owner of a private estate, indicating that the estate will be demolished automatically in three days.
45 days of inactivity: The estate will be automatically demolished.
30 days of inactivity: A notification indicating that the estate is being prepared for auto-demolition will appear in the Timers interface in the Duty tab of the Main Menu. (Buried under a separated housing tab which is deep in menu after changing from self notices you find it.) Not normally check that. FIX: would be a pop up when close to loosing your property on logging on instead.

(This all happens in a little over a weeks time IRL, by the time i had time to check on the weekend it was already done. Also it goes to promo spam mail)

3 ways to fix this is:
1) Allow being on the outside on your property to count for all who log on and pay subs. Which i did often to que for PVP matches.
2) Provide a Pop up warning when you log into game showing clearly that you are going to loose your land if not enter house click here to confirm notice. This is do to FFXIV housing rules just starting again. thx!
3) Convert to instance housing for all that can never be demolished by a timer.
Also to address the question that a lot here state that i was aware of the rules and changes. The answer is i was not up on all the changes and restart times. This was not the way i wanted to learn about it as well. I posted this so it can be fixed.

Well documented stupidity isn't any less stupid. It was in the patch notes, and on the lodestone. It was also linked in the launcher. People talked about it on reddit, and the forums.
Just because you were ignorant of the reinstatement, and how it works, does not mean it is broken. You are telling me that in 45 days, you did not once enter your house. Why do you need a house then?

Rejoice, for someone more interested in using a house will now get to do so. The system is working as intended.why did you never click your door? I que up pvp on my front lawn daily. That's what i do. How i play.
did you not have a chest? and armoire? a bell? not outside. I checked that stuff at my FC house.
why do you care enough to make a post here? Because it needs to be said and fixed.
but never actually go inside of it? is it empty? is it inconvenient? again i am a pvper all i need to do is qup !-_-! mostly.
Why do people act like other people would be more interested in useing said house? Like.. There really isn't a whole lot to do at your house except make it look good and the garden and once you are done with that, maybe visit it and hang there ever my so often.
While I'm at it, I'm fairly certain that when my house was close to being demolished, when ever i logged on there would be the red message in the chat window, like the first thing i saw after the message of the day and all that... I could be wring, its been a while.
I do feel that as long as you pay your sub witg no lapse, then timers shouldnt start, but the moment you stop payments then thats when timers should pick up. You would get rid of inactive player houses and people paying still keep theirs without haveing to worry about said timers.
Imo, this is a good policy, fair, you get many warnings, so it’s your own fault, now many who couldn’t have a house because of some players greed now they have bigger chance, some buy a house and rarely use it, what about questionable accounts or bots, even if they get warnings they don’t reply because they are bots, so that deserves demolition, let everyone have a chance to buy a house especially active players, so I am happy with this policy.
Why do people say “no offense” right before they’re about to offend you?
You just answered your own question.
Basically. The entire housing system is bunk in this game yet players celebrate active subscribers losing out because they feel like the system is somehow personally meting out justice to those they think are unworthy lol. I think if you stay subscribed, you should keep your house. Someone subscribed is just as invested in the game as you are, no need to force them to babysit their property just so they don't lose it to someone else who will likely never do anything with it either after the initial hype/decorating period has worn off.
I still can't believe after like 3 expansions the devs have done arse-all to fix housing and we're still stuck with Ultima Online levels of ancient housing management.
I wouldn't have my house today if not for the demolition timer. My house if the most important thing to me, the point that I subscribed an entire year because I don't want to give it up. I log out every game in my bedroom and craft most everything in my house. I even personally craft almost 90% of everything in my house, a project which took me a month to complete. If you have to "babysit" your house, it really sounds like you don't even want it. If the house is a burden, let your house be given to someone like me, who will enjoy it thoroughly.Basically.
