Source for what exactly?
If you need the source for their statement about forbidding to log in into the game from usual launcher with Steam account - it is on Lodestone, here: https://eu.finalfantasyxiv.com/lodes...bc6429f507050/
In this same post there is also an update about delaying due to a "confirmed bug" (probably the very one that disturbs TESO players ability to play, but we don't know for sure since there were not any news about it since March).
Ahh I see.
Welp, guess SE will make more moneh from box purchases soon.![]()
White Mage ~ Scholar ~ PaladinBoi if you got kicked for the same thing in over 20 duties I strongly suggest you think hard on whatever the hell it is you're doing
As I'm sure you are well aware, it takes more than one person to be able to kick a player from a duty, so in all those instances there were at least two people agreeing they'd be better off without you tanking.
I wonder why, hope it is not some agreement, or else Steam players will stay locked in. Maybe to put Steam as a platform same way as PC, PS4 and Mac can help who have steam account to extend his/her account to other platforms. Sales-wise, it makes sense.
I just want to add my voice here and say I would really love to be given the option to switch from Steam to the standard PC version of the game. While I haven't personally had any issues with the Steam client as of yet, I have read so many accounts of other people having issues and there is nothing but confusion for new and old players alike when it comes to the PC and Steam keys being exclusive and incompatible with each other. Simply giving Steam users the option to move away from it to a standard PC platform would really go a long way with resolving so many people's complaints.
If it does happen, I just hope it works. Looking at all the problems people have with preorder (though many of the problems probably only apply to the physical version), I'm glad I can easily preorder on Steam with no problem both for Stormblood 2 years ago and now Shadowbringers.
So I hope I can continue to buy and play FFXIV on Steam, unlike with ESO where I had to switch to regular Windows version (though I was able to keep playing with the same character) due to login issues with the Steam version.
Signed, I don't own the steam version but it's silly regardless to me.
I honestly wouldn't be surprised if they're waiting for that so they don't lose out on pre-orders for the expansion. All I know is if they do implement it and don't allow us out of Steam i'm gone. Will unsubscribe the first outage and will never return.
ESO did this and they had major issues with it! Including one time where nobody could log in for a full month!
