Due to a confirmed bug, implementation that was tentatively scheduled for late March will now be delayed until April or after. We will let you know as soon as a date is confirmed.

I know that "after" is pretty open ended, but can we hope they've changed their mind and given up on this idea?

Have not seen anything yet either and I've been keeping my eyes peeled. Hopefully, they don't do it or at the least give us the option to convert away from Steam even if to buy new copies of the game to do so.

As a result of this change, I hereby demand we be given a one-time ability to trade in our Steam keys for Square Enix direct Windows platform keys on our accounts.

So as soon as the new Expansion hits we wont even be able to play properly if steam continues their "we dont care" policy.

The only thing we can hope for is for Square Enix to make sure they blaze their partnership with them if the almost innevitable connectionproblems arrive and people are not able to play.

That's a launch parameter and it's not a new one, it's been used since the steam version was released. Its existence doesn't mean the steam authentication will happen in 5.0.

I really hope SE reconsiders! If I had known this would have been an issue I wouldn't have gone through Steam in the first place! That's not fair to us that found this game through Steam!!
