Mm...to atone for mild miscommunication, I did mention "I do this after the first pull to gauge how much they take" before continuing on.
Before coming up with the game and in any non-dungeon instance (raids, alliance), I do my job diligently, mainly keeping an Excog on the tank just about anytime its off cd unless I feel it isn't needed thanks to my co-healer (usually being a white mage which I tend to enjoy playing with more than astro) picking up any slack I may be leaving or the tanks are on point in the fight in general.
But when it boils down to most of the 70 dungeons currently speaking, unless the tank is undergeared or obviously inexperienced in the run or the role (someone tell me how it happens to be lv 70 and not know how to tank..), the risk is severely low to warrant needing to be super on top of keeping them topped off beyond the odd adlo to spread to the melee dps or just to reduce group damage, hence why I decided to make the game a personal test on how much I can get away with just leaving the slow bleeding to Eos on sic (plus esuna when necessary) when the tank pulls a larger mob.
Like I said, I'm fairly confident in my abilities in keeping a single tank alive without going full panic like I would learning a new raid/savage if they manage well after the first pull with minor intervention from me.
I'm seeing its a mixed bag of "don't do that you slag!" and "gauge your abilities", but either way, I'm still alerting them or bringing it to their attention that I'm going to play the "game" if they fare well past the first trash group (after sometimes examining their gear, 20% of the time...) rather than pop it on them without a word and leave them unaware of my intentions.
I'm a jerk (aka a cat), not a villain cause I will take blame if I mistime an ability and they die with 0-1 vulnerability and end the game then and there since I technically lost at the only goal of it, but so far that hasn't happened.
But so far, I haven't really had anyone berate me in-game about it when I make the rules clear, all they ask is I don't let them die and I can basically do whatever.
I'll take full responsibility if that ever happens, but you'd have to be * * A C T I V E L Y * * trying to kill yourself for that to happen. owo
