    Thank you for this Thread seriously!

    Pruning the DPS kits since HW and now even worse because they just streamline it without other things to do(no more pet management, no more card management and WHM didn't have anything to begin with) is just horrible and we all complain for a very good reason. All kind of content player can complain because the DPS kit is always streamlined no matter your level.

    But seeing what Yoshida says and that no healer dev is saying anything or atleast any CM(is there even any CM? sorry I started using this Forum since the changes) worries me a lot. Does SE know about the healer role? Do they know the issues for the community? For example the Utility gap between WHM and SCH/AST? Do they know that they playerbase liked DPSing because either it for skill capping or there is no heal needed?
    It feels like there are no particular healer devs because why is always Yoshida talking and why is he never talking about the issues from the community?
    Didn't he say that WHM will be different from SB? Where? The Lily System is maybe a bit better but it is waiting instead of doing anything. That is not considered engaging at all right? And where is the Utility buff? Why is Trick Shot still there from NIN but other things are gone because of "synergy"(crit buff from BRD for example)?

    I am really confused about SE and about what Yoshida is saying right now and it seems like that a lot of healers are confused and angry because healers are not treated respectfully!

    I really hope that they will change things back or atleast change them somehow, for example Aero 3 for all Healers or w/e. They should also start talking to the healers, especially the devs which they never did even though WHMs had issues.

    I am legitimately angry at that answer to the SCH question. He might as well be saying "If you're at the bare minimum for clearing content on healer there's no point in gearing or optimizing further."

    The crazy thing is it isn't even the top tier healers who barely have to heal nowadays. When my old static cleared Ultima, both healers combined for roughly 50% of their casts being DPS abilities. This is Ultimate and healers still aren't being pushed to heal. The devs can prattle on about how they want healers to focus more on healing but until they make content demand it, no one will care. I get it. They don't want to scare off baby healers. Instead, those babies are told to DPS because they have nothing else to do otherwise. What irks me is when Yoshida says they don't expect healer DPS. To put it bluntly, the community does. Why? Because people typically don't appreciate when someone stands around doing nothing while they have to press every button in their kit.

    So the devs either need to push healers towards healing and maybe gate off people who aren't willing to improve beyond "spam Medica II" or expect the current DPS meta.

    This is a great point.

    Some DPS are so focused on getting an extra GCD they get hit by AoEs or fail to manage their aggro. The solution seems to be take away their distracting DPS skills so they can focus on mechanics.

    Personally I like the idea of the changes. As a Healer I've had multiple tanks pull more than they can handle during that large pool decided to drop stance and died quickly. After their death they proceeded to complain that I should have been DPS'ing and that would have made a difference. 1 now with the healers doing the role that they are in the dungeon to do in the first place which is heal it is a lot less stress on the healers. As a White Mage the only DPS I will do is Aero. Because I don't believe I should blow my cool downs and mp on DPS. There are instances where mobs come around the corner and now we have extra mobs and if I have no MP to sustain the tank because I've blown it DPS and it's a wipe. I wish everybody would stop complaining. These changes were brought on by complaints. So now when the developers decided to make the changes due to the complaints more people are complaining about that. To me it's simple I play all three classes. Do the job you're in the dungeon to do. Let's face facts there are a lot of healers that would rather DPS but go healer because they get quicker queue times. Who cares is tanks do damage I don't. I care that they stay in stance stance to take less damage. If they do that I can focus my efforts on Keepin the DPS from dying. Inevitably these changes should help balance the negative experience we have all had using Duty Finder. I'm excited for the changes and I wish everybody would stop complaining.

    These changes aren't going to stop people from DPSing. Unless there are other drastic changes that we don't know about yet (seems unlikely at this point) DPS is still going to be the default downtime activity and what what we spend most of our time doing. It'll just be really freaking boring now with only one main button.

    This team's lack of healer understanding has been apparent since HW. It's just finally coming to a head now, and nothing's going to come from all this outrage. Maybe SCH will get some DPS tools back. AST will get aoe cards again. WHM will remain at the absolute minimum requirements to not turn into a limited job. And we'll go into 6.0 like this with maybe a new healer, not because they finally got healers right, but because there would be no excuse for no healers 3 expansions in a row.

    I'm sorry but I have absolutely no faith with Yoshida and healers anymore.

    if the initial idea of dev is to push healer to heal, fine , just making the aoe/tank buster mechanics more frequent than we have now.
    why tf they gutted healers' dps abilities so badly, this is unnecessary at all.

    Just because you're bad enough that you need every last drop of MP to do the bare minimum of keeping people alive doesn't mean the rest of us have to suffer. If they increase incoming damage like people are suspecting, you'll need to learn how to heal anyway too.

    Another pretty blatant example of a healer double standard.

    In the latest Live Letter it was announced that

    1) Healer MP will be capped at 10K mana
    2) Piety will affect MP regen rates.
    3) Main stat Materia can't be melded and will no longer be obtainable

    Ok Cool. So all we have to do is start stacking piety to increase our mana regen to offset the loss of Refresh and Mana shift. Sounds reasonable right?

    The piety attribute, which currently affects maximum MP, will be adjusted to affect the amount of MP passively recovered during combat. The team is also removing the ability to meld primary attribute materia (including piety) to armor, so the rebalanced weight of these stats will have ripples throughout the raiding meta.
    So Piety, which hasn't been a Main Stat since Stormblood, gets chosen out of all the other substats to specifically be not allowed to be melded. Despite piety melding being a very common sense solution to MP issues. It's like they don't even know their own systems.

    I can already see the rebuttal: But Deceptus! The last slide says the piety attribute is going to change! It might be a main stat now! To which I reply, look at the screen below, from the Shadowbringers media event. Piety is under the Role section of the stat page. Will tanks be able to meld Tenacity to their gear? I'm 100% confident they will be. If tanks are able to meld Tenacity as a Role Stat, healers should be able to meld Piety as a Role Stat. Period. Otherwise, double standard.
