From level 50 or above I would vote kick them too if they are arrogant about it. I have no issue with it at all to give them the boot. Listen, you are playing an M M O. I value my time, I value other people their time. Doing to basic thing such as gearing properly is paramount. If you don't respect your fellow team mates on such a basis level, then go waste your own time playing an offline game. Had a Bardam's Mettle today where the Samurai had like VIT accessories. Essentially, I think current level gives 80 strength per piece. He was missing like 400 STR. BuT WhY KicK WheN ItS OnlY 2% LeSs DaMagE? It blows my mind that there are people out there so utterly selfish that they would excuse this behaviour. Go be lazy somewhere else, I'm not having it.

When I was leveling War, I made sure I had up to date gear in all dungeons, and used my CDs. Sometimes even this wasn't enough and I had to meld tenacity, since healers just weren't healing enough. I probably should have checked their gear and kicked them tbh, I added to the problem by carrying them through.
Especially that healer that had a go at me for dying, when I did a large pull and he was just spamming gravity in bardams mettle.
Not even my holmgang could save me then, the healer just didn't heal me. He tried to blame it on my gear, when I had 80% of the gear from that dungeon, and the rest HQ highest Ilvl melded XD

This is actually a common thing I've noticed now that im leveling some classes again, people don't bother to upgrade their gear and just go through the motions of things. You notice it even more when a tank or healer does it as the healing starts to lack or the tank can't hold aggro etc... While vote dismiss abuse is bad I can't but to want to kick people who don't care enough to update their gear some just because the others can pick up the slack.
man y'all are some salty people. if you're worried about dps being meh, go as a very strong dps or dps as a healer. if you're worried about your tank sucking, go as a strong healer and laugh as you can survive single pulls without even having a tank. bosses hit hard? know the fights and pre-shield TBs. bad attitudes? you're probably coming off as either rude or naggy .. gear 1-60 is a joke and even just spamming dungeons, you'll be unable to keep even remotely decent gear. a weak person in a leveling dungeon is as common as a fat kid in a candy store. chill out, you probably won't fail, and unless your healer was actually good, you were probably going to get single pulls anyways.
Yeah I get you. And I don't have that issue anymore but I just wanted to mention I used too and wanted to express it still happens is all. ^^ Friends with icecream? In the past that may be true in regards to the MB, we now have world visit now and can shop the MB else where unless prices are like that across all servers on your DC than I am sorry that sucks that rings cost that much where you are at. But seriously use the world visit, shop the MB elsewhere, its your gil, you worked hard for it, take it where you get the best value for it.
As for rings it stops at 28 as npc vendors will not sell anything in ARR at beyond that level not even in Mor Dhona. Level 38 rings are crafted. Then picks back up at 50. There are ring drops in HM dungeons but you are better off getting Iron works rings because you can augment them to an higher ilvl. I want to say 125. If you have Ishgard open for 51-60 characters you get amber things from leves that are used to get accessories like rings, necklaces, bracelets for 51-59. I want to say if I recall, you get coffers as well from quests that give primal accessories.
With the exception of the rings stopping at level 28 and then picking back up at lvl 38 and then from level 50ish. A lot of things are available to the player at little to no cost. Just requires a little effort on the player's part. Tomes are silly easy to get. leves are even more easy. In honesty its a good habit to try to stay current on your gear. I am just tired of seeing folks in weathered accessories at 35 and up (the brand new ring is good through 50 +3 all stats).

So what exactly are you kicking them for? I'm confused. Is it because they are doing less dps? Because that's technically against tos. As I was told and read in the tos you can not belittle players or make them feel bad or as a worse player because they aren't doing "optimal dps" or using "optimal rotations".

For a normal dungeon, if I notice something's off and I see players with wrong gear, I'll call them out. If they start being hostile, they're getting the boot - I'm not required to put up with your crap. If they say something like, "Oh, I need DEX to be able to hit" while on a magic class, I'll tell them this is FFXIV and it doesn't use that kind of system and explain how the game works - it's fine, I can take the time to explain the game and make it better for the player in question and their future party members. If they insist, they get the boot - players willfully being ignorant and unwilling to learn are genuinely bad players. I don't give bad players respect or empathy.
I'm actually a bit distressed by how many posters say they're okay with letting basic competence slide.
