Are you sure about this? Using windowed actually uses ONE vid. card instead of the two?.... Confirm me this pleaseNah, You have to play in full screen for crossfire/SLI to work, same with every game. I can max everthing with AA at 8x except turn on ambient on and it runs smoothly. I have to turn my settings down a bit when i play windowed since only one card gets utilized in windowed mode.![]()

"Oh the good old sig from v1.0..."
I'll play.. My system is kinda dated, and I generally let my hardware lingo slide when I'm not scoping out new parts, but it still runs the game good with fairly high settings..
Case: Really old atx tower, forget brand..
MB: Asus (forget model number)
Processor: AMD Phenom X3 8650
Ram: 8GB Corsair DDR2 (800MHz i think..)
HDD: 2xSeagate 500gb 7200rpm striped
Video: GeForce GTX280 1GB
Sound: MB Audio(Had an X-Fi but it went out a couple months back).
OS: Windows 7 Professional x64
Monitors: 2xViewsonic 22" (1680x1050)
I think I scored like ~2k on the benchmark in both modes. I have most things set on high, ambient occlusion off, 8xsampling.. I get decent FPS I think.. can't recall actually clocking it, or needing to, it's not like it's unbearably slow.
Yes you must run in full screen to use crossfire/SLI, but even in full screen all 4 of my GPU's are not in use, only 2 are.. windowed or fullscreen. Some reason it just wont use all 4 gpus. (each 5970 has 2 5850's on it, for those who dont know)

It even says in the Crossfire manual that it wont work windowed or cloned. and i do get much better performance playing in full screen.
Crossfire (AMD/ATI cards) only works in fullscreen and SLi (NVIDIA cards) works in both fullscreen and windowed, though windowed obviously not as fast.
The best way to get the profile working without an error is to get the drivers downloaded again from Nvidia. Even if they are the same ones. From there in the instalation you choose custom install, and at the bottom there you choose clean install. This will remove all the "user specified" stuff that is most likely giving you the error when you go to import.I tried to use a cut/paste profile that I found online from about 6 months ago, but I couldn't get it to load w/o an error.
Dismayed, I assumed this meant the game wasn't running in SLI, but when I did the benchmark the other day...I saw that both GPU's were running. 90-95% on GPU1 and 80-85% on GPU2. So whatever its doing...its the default settings. Now to be fair...I did this benchmark POST server shutdown and I haven't officially seen my GPU usage in game. Ill know in a couple days for sure what my in game usage is doing.
AS for 3d... interesting, I installed the glasses and tried to play the game. I didnt do the "CTRL+T". Maybe thats why they didnt activate 3d mode. Im looking forward to trying it. After all, thats why I got these glasses. And yes, I have a 120hz Alienware monitor.
From there you run the "Ge-Force Sli Profile Tool" and export the txt file. The text file you export is now a clean one with no changes to it. Open the text and put and find the FFXIV profile. Replace all the values under it with these
Setting ID_0x0076e164 = 0x00000009
Setting ID_0x00a06946 = 0x000240f5
Setting ID_0x1033cec1 = 0x00000003
Setting ID_0x1033cec2 = 0x00000002
Setting ID_0x1033dcd2 = 0x00000004
Setting ID_0x1033dcd3 = 0x00000004
Setting ID_0x10930f46 = 0x00000089
Setting ID_0x1095def8 = 0x02506405
Setting ID_0x10ecdb82 = 0x00040000
save and import. You should get no errors on the import. It should work fine after that. Well a lot better than before. The thing about SLI is it will work in windowed mode also! Unlike Xfire. However it does run a little better in Fullscreen mode.
