    All dungeons hit like a truck at the start of an expansion. Look at the Stone Vigil, the Vault, Bardems trash. Low gear, low skill, people learning.

    Then we out gear it / get gud and it's trivial. And what about the rest of the instances that will be the daily roulette? Every one of them will be just like Sastasha, press one to win.

    When we got the first look at the jobs before Stormblood arrived, people said the same : things will hit harder, so we won't have much downtime this time around. But nothing fundamentally changed. Because they can't really change this. Some people still struggle with our actual toolkit, even if we already have powerful actions, so I trully doubt they will change the overall difficulty and take the risk to gate a part of the playerbase. It will be probably like always : at first things hit hard, mostly because of our crappy gear during the leveling phase, and then we will be left with nothing but a rock and Netflix.

    Greatly exaggerated. The damage in the video scales about the same as if you were running Sohm Al and Shisui for the first time when their respective expansion hit.

    At the very least, SE, plz for the love of Hydaelyn, don't change the AST cards system.
    Tweak some value if you want (and give a new effect to Spire), but don't rework the cards system !

    I am actually quite excited about the healer changes. The only thing I am a bit worried about, is that the Astro card system might be a bit boring compared to how it is now. But I'll have to play it myself to judge that properly :3

    So instead of thinking omg we need to buff WHM, they just nerfed everything to the ground and made them all WHM clones. Such a shame, this will probably be the first expansion I don't play a healer. (ARR WHM, HW AST, SB SCH)

    I remember leveling/doing hunts with SCH was pretty painful in 4.0, but I suffered through it since instances were/are fun. I'm more of an offhealer/hybrid minded player.. so uh, I guess I'm dropping SCH for another job this expansion. I've been a SCH main since I started in ARR. If it turns out to be not so bad, I might level it as my third or so job. I've never been very happy with AST when leveling, so the new healer DPS skills aren't very appealing to me.

    Not looking forward to queues, but oh well. Too bad we can't do a mixed trust/player system..

    Even as someone who thinks healers have way too much time to DPS in this game, even I know just simply gutting their DPS kits is a lazy, slapdash fix. AST's DPS rotation was already pushing it when it came to levels of engagement previously...now every healer is like this, and with some fun parts of their healer kits pruned to boot? Yikes. Heres hoping theres a serious battle content overhaul to come with this that encourages more healing, because otherwise...yikes.

    Currently Adloq is 100% Galvanize Shield base, 200% Galvanize Shield on critical. Current tooltip has it at 125% Galvanize Shield all casts, with an additional 100% Catalyze Shield. Now once you account for only needing a single cast to get the critical adloq, the MP and GCD savings to produce a critlo should roughly outdo a 37.5% loss on shield efficacy (1.25/2.00=.625, 1.00-.625=.375). Considering it removes the MP cost and the RNG of crit, on the first cast you only save MP, every cast required after that is the saving of 2.5s and an entire MP cost, so if it takes say average 3-5 Adloqs to get a crit, that an increase of 66-80% increase in time efficacy and a saving of 3-5 rather expensive MP costs. Not to mention the overall amount of shields a SCH produces will be increased by the Seraph, tho that depends a bit on release day potency of her spells/abilities.
