What, the idea of a bunch of cat boys and girls running around trying to fire blast each other off stages for all of the games life span isn't riveting and exciting to you? Churro, I thought we were more alike than that. That sounds terrible. So, the next MMO is gonna be some casual trash (literally) that you can hop in and hop out, because apparently players nowadays don't have the attention span to play something like FFXIV or WoW? This is laughable, and sad, and scary at the same time.
Actually, I think Yoshida is flat out WRONG here. I think the reason there is player drop off is because there hasn't been a compelling game in this format for a very long time. I do NOT think players are to blame here. I find it extremely annoying that developers continue to blame the players for their own mistakes when it comes to their games. Look at WoW classic, and look at the massive popularity it is creating. I can't believe the genre I love is going to be ruined, because publishers want to cash in on trash like fortnite are garbage MOBAs.

Ironically, when it comes to battle royale garbage, I think most of the people playing it don't even like the games they are playing! They are playing it because their favorite juvenile streamer is playing it, and you can tell by the mass drop offs that happen when they switch games. Apex Legends, for that example, is completely dead now, a fairly compelling, and polished game within it's own genre. It's a popularity contest; a fad. Nothing like what evoked players in the early days of WoW, and I didn't even play WoW back then.
I can't wait to bring my low IQ to something like that, that is truly worthy of my time.
Looks like streamlining and "accessibility" is going to be the name of the day, just look how great that has been for WoW retail! I am actually fuming right now.
