Blizzard 2 has a Bind effect (not sure in 5.0), so it's supposed to let BLM go away from enemies if they decide to focus on the BLM.
Wasn't that freeze? Or did it change at some point. I may be confused as I've only blayed blm super casually since ARR despite it being the first job I leveled, but I thought it had blizzard II as it's basic ice aoe and freeze as a separate binding aoe that was targetable?
Freeze as well, but that's a higher level spell and it's ranged. B2 is more an emergency spell.Wasn't that freeze? Or did it change at some point. I disagree, but I'm sorry you feel that way.this means that proper use of your tank stance mattered, and the fact that you needed knowledge/experience to know when and how to use an ability is called depth. Also their depending how the situation changes, (level of enemies vs self, dmg potential of enemies, playstyle of dps, content type) whether you use it or how often you use it changes. thats depth.
is it the hardest decision possible? no. but removing that adds less depth to tanking.
I'll also point out most of the reason these skills are not well implemented is because they designed encounters to be generally simple.
Saying anything further is just a waste of energy at this point.
I don't entirely mind that, actually. Spells like Holy and Miasma 2 are strong enough that dancing through melee range was enough to make spamming them more interesting. As a WHM, you generally wanted to be in there anyway to get the max value out of your assize.
I can understand why some may find it annoying, but it never bothered me that much.

actually i didnt know they were killing shield stuff, which i liked a lot, but it makes sense since they want all tanks to have access to the same amount of interupts now.Just because skills are being pruned, doesn't mean that they were riveting, useful, or compelling for gameplay.
Taking PLD for example: We are losing > Bulwark, Shield Bash, Shield Swipe, Savage Blade, Tempered Will.
Some people will be like, "OH MAN MY SHIELD SWIPES BRO! SO MUCH DEPTH!" But honestly, what we're getting is a PLD that has never been better.
I would surmise they want healers to find complexity in using heals in a strategic manner.
While it makes sense from a balance all classes to do the same things so no one is left out stance, it sucks from a charachter uniqueness, and developing interesting mechanics for battle. More uniformity and less charachter-enemy interaction. yay.
you think this is bad just wait till 6.0 lol
Even if they are calling it casual bringer and the game is getting dumb down it's going to benefit SE in the long term.
Easier gameplay means more people who can play your game means more money.
While I dont agree with microtransactions, I do agree with smart marketing.
I don't have any complain about SB so far...for every expansion the game its getting better. Iknow that wow sucks now, they messed the game with last expansion but ff14 its far from that.
Ignore them, we haven't even Played ShadowBringers yet, and neither have any of them.
Lets wait to to actually play the game, THEN voice our Concerns.
But before then...I honestly don't see the Problem with Simplifying the Game. Getting rid of Useless Skills, Less Buttons to Press. Making More Jobs Viable so there is less Statics that have the same Team Composition. I see nothing but good coming in Shadowbringers.
Alternatively, I could claim that watered down gameplay leaves the core userbase dissatisfied, who will themselves churn from the end product toward another more focused game. Having the core userbase churn will cause all the precious new customers to likewise churn because "Wow everybody's leaving, this must be bad."
Whatever information they have, they have a lot more data than I do. But "easier gameplay = more players" is not an associative rule you can glean from the data available to the public.
