Parsers are Add Ons for a reason. You dont need them to play the game so that would fall under unimportant. You know, I used to play WoW and I've about had it with folks in this community acting like bad behavior somehow originated there or was exclusive to there. This game has some of the most toxic, most 'gid gud', most condescending folks I have ever seen in an mmo and they are all die hard XIV gamers.
If you want to be taken seriously, then seriously discuss the issues with the game and the community in terms that don't bash other games for no reason. WoW's community at its core is no better or worse than this one. In some ways it might be better because at least over there they don't argue about important things like parsers in a game completely designed around math and they don't cheer the developers on for coming up with solutions to perceived problems that punish players.
This community does.

Number crunching in a game based wholly on math is kind of important. SE wants us to do the number crunching in 'our heads', sure, but that doesn't mean number crunching isn't important.
Every single encounter is literally designed around each team member contributing a certain amount of damage. In order to determine the optimal way to use abilities in order to meet those damage requirements we must perform mathematical comparisons.
I'm not going to get into a big debate on parsers vs no parsers but I will say that you just proved my actual point from that post, which is that this community has a strange sensitivity to a tool that does math in a math-based game.

I dont care one way or the other I'm just saying it's not important. hence why it doesn't have one built into it. You do realise that in order to test these fights the devs go in with the crappiest gear they can that just barely gets them the ilevel recommendation to see if it can be done.Number crunching in a game based wholly on math is kind of important. Secondly I dont care if everyone and thier mother uses a parser But I would much rather they didnt go on about it or post thier numbers to outside sites.
Thirdly I daresay Parsing is fine in static groups but using it in PuGs is among the stupidest and most asinine use of it.
