Personally I don't want to see JSE dyable so I'm glad of this.

You people whine that this game wasn't "Final Fantasy enough", and that you want to walk around looking like a black mage and dragoon, so they are adding in Jobs. Now you're whining that you'll all look the same, which was the entire point of wanting job specific gear in the first place? Make up your mind, already.
So it's the exact same people complaining about each concept? You people whine that this game wasn't "Final Fantasy enough", and that you want to walk around looking like a black mage and dragoon, so they are adding in Jobs. I'm for dying JSE or AF or Relic or whatever they're going to call it. As said before, there should be a great deal of customization when it comes to something such as visuals since it doesn't affect game play balance.
What I don't get though is why there is so few colors for each individual piece of gear that can be dyed.
They already explained it, the engine and memory (stress) is why there's limited choices (not that other MMOs have unlimited choices either) since initially colors were tied to different stats and they're slowly changing that.So it's the exact same people complaining about each concept?

In-game it also seems a lot are in favor of it staying iconic, since people really don't see White Mages running around in blood red or jet black armor, and you can't say "well (Job) can be limited to x - x selection)" since that also falls into the "it hurts customization"..even though being able to dye armor isn't really customization when you can have 20 others looking exactly like you if they have the same favorite color (which is entirely possible.)
Though in the end Yoshida already felt it shouldn't be dyed so it won't be, and was stated maybe down in the future with other JSE sets it will be, but the initial sets won't be.

Why can't you see the initial JSE like some kind of "official uniform" that represents the jobs?
Did you see pink soldiers in Afghanistan or green uniforms at McDonald's?
I like the idea of it being iconic. Honestly if people want customization they need to request SE to allow you to craft the gears and choose the stats you put on it. THAT'S CUSTOMIZATION, since that won't happen, these sets aren't supposed to be customized, they're supposed to be designed for your job, hence Job specific armor.
When was the last time you seen Black Mage being represented by anything other than some shade of Black, brown (with white trim) or blue and how often? I can think of only 2 instances where the armor was any other color and that color was some green and some purple (FFV and FFTactics respectively.)
Once again, you didn't read what I put. If there is still SOME kind of customization, I don't mind. The way people say BLACK MAGES WEAR BLACK is so wrong it's stupid. Black mages wore blue and a straw hat. You recognized them for their hat. White mages, I recognized them for their hood and red stripes. Dragoons have always had demonic looking armor. The only thing that made them iconic was somewhat their colors but only because they didn't have much room and bits to make the armor like they can now.So once again:
How likely is it that no other player in the world who may choose to be a Paladin will dye their armor the same color you choose too? Doesn't that kill the "make people look a little different" argument? Will you complain at that person for dying the armor the same color as you?
Despite the fact you can dye armor now, I still see a lot of people looking alike because of the materia they've attached, so really, it's just 1 set of armor it's not a big deal if it's not able to be dyed, there will be literally hundreds of other sets to choose from that can be dyed. One undyable set of armor is not the end of the world or end of customization.
Hell in other MMOs I play, you can't even dye or attach enhancement stones to raid gear because the gear is colored by tier, people aren't complaining there about not being able to dye it even though people will seek out the gold sets which makes them look alike, since all it does is say "I completed (insert hard instance raid/boss) and here's my golden shirt."
and all this about looking uniform, you still look "uniform". Only thing we would be changing is the color. Why does this piss people off so much just to have a little customization.
i dont think job spec will trump double melds(high ones), but the stats will be focused for party play though which is good.
Oh just go somewhere's else. Don't assume I complained about all that too, with your little level 1 MRDYou people whine that this game wasn't "Final Fantasy enough", and that you want to walk around looking like a black mage and dragoon, so they are adding in Jobs.
