    Meditating for GL4 isn't required. The lack of Fist of Earth shown probably means that and riddle is being removed.

    Instead, the meditation is how Monks deal with downtime now. TK to dump, Fist of Wind, meditate to rebuild, fist of Fire formshift once, hit the boss and ramp up the buffs first.

    This is in line with Black Mage's ice builder and the strange shout out to Samurai's meditate.

    This would be very peculiar, interesting. If so it would probably means that, depending on Sks and GL4, its a very tight rotation and a fast-ish one at that, that means that skill celing would shoot through the roof, and theoretically it would be kind of independent of party comp (since party meditation and so on) so either we have super long phase changes, in order to chakra up and still meditate or just pick one or the other.

    The ranged attack costs 10/10 Mana, seems like it's intended to help correct your gauge if you mess up somehow, as well as give an attack to use while repositioning. Other than that I guess it's a "Don't use since you want to use Gauge on the melee combo instead".

    The melee skill is an alternative to Displacement, shares a cooldown with it but also has 50 less potency. Literally nothing more than that. A really odd addition. At the very least it would have been nice to see a Charge Action effect on it, but nope... Nothing...

    Biggest oddity I find with both the trailer and Live Letter, is how they used Manafication wrong... They build well past 50/50 Mana before using it... During the gameplay Yoshida showed us, Manafication also applies some buff now with an as yet unknown effect.

    Other than that, all Red Mage really got was the same spell three times... Lost Impact to turn it into Scatter, presumably lost the enhanced Scatter proc too, and got AoE Veraero and Verthunder... Red Mage now has 4 GCDs dedicated to AoE damage while most other Jobs have 1... Bring on 5.1 I guess, I'm really lost with these changes...

    Verfoul is the only really noteworthy thing from the whole showing... Really a weak display for Red Mage IMO, I get they lumped it with other Jobs that just got "a simple evolution" of what they already had, but Red Mage seems to have come out the worst of that... Other Jobs seem to have gotten plenty of new oGCDs to spice up their current kit, all Red Mage got was Verfoul on the end of its current rotation... Everything else seems incredibly niche by design...

    Fists of Wind does seem to be required for GL4. If you watch the color of the stacks in the job gauge they’re red in Fists of Fire and green in Fists of Wind.

    If the fourth stack is treated the same as the previous three, then there will be no use for Fists of Fire. Each GL stack currently boosts damage by 10% while Fists of Fire buffs 6% so a fourth stack will give more damage in a lower damage base stance.

    If that’s all how it remains, Fists of Fire will be an opening stance to build stacks, while Fists of Wind will be your primary stance.
