You know you guys will have the earrings in a few days would't surprise me if someone gets them with 3 days or less.

Was initially excited, but then reality set in when I realized just what kind of a grind we were looking at. Consider Rose Lanner Whistle, for 50 tomes. Assuming (perhaps generously low) an hour per CM or Prae, that's seventeen hours worth of grinding. At current drop rates, you should be able to grind the (now quite easy) Ex Primal unsynced and get a drop in FAR less time.
There are still a couple hidden gems in the prize list. Pegasus might be worth the grind, given how difficult it is to get Diadem parties together, for instance, and the "Special Maps" are an intriguing unknown. Still, all in all, this thing is WAY too time-intense to shop casually.
What is so special about the earrings? They are not even on my radar. Certainly not worth grinding 100 tomes for them. They don't even have any experience buffs or anything along that line.

Am I reading this right:
50 to 100 dungeons per item and only 1 month time?
They probably forgot that some people here have sth called "real life".
I'm still missing the Calofisteri and Bucket minions so definitely grabbing those. I love this concept of letting newer players grind some items through more easily accessible methods if they missed out on old content when it was relevant. You still have to spend some time on it but now you have more options.
Not sure if an earring is worth that many runs, though.

Speaking as someone who did it twice (main and main-alt), is this worse than the whisper-go-go mount grind?
and it says no undersized parties. does that include squadron parties? I'm leveling the jobs I've not finished (and have sucky DPS queue times) that way. I could kill 2 birds with one stone doing that if it'll get me the new TS.
You'd have to check squadron missions at the start of the event. Duties which qualify will have a moogle icon next or in front of the duty selection. For those leveling it's not really too bad although wonder if main story roulette will have the icon or just the two duties when run separately.Speaking as someone who did it twice (main and main-alt), is this worse than the whisper-go-go mount grind?

50 dungeons if you're going to run dungeons, or 25 alliance raids is the "better" option.
Per item.
D:
15 tokens for the minions is a somewhat more fathomable grind, but still.
(How long does it actually take to gather 99 Diadem spoils for the Pegasus?)
The Lv60 raids now have a 100% chance of dropping the minion (though not that you'll individually get it), which may be a more efficient grind for that minion. Especially if you want those glamours and/or Lv60 EXP.
My biggest issue with this is that you don't get tomestones if you join a party in progress. It kind of screws people in a duty who need a fill when we all turn off the option in the df... or those that join in progress and promptly bail. It shouldn't matter at what point we land in the party, just that we complete it.
It's like an event tailor made not for me
