Yeah, it really sucks that there are players out there that would rather lazily deflect questions asking for help with dungeon mechanics instead of taking 10~15 seconds to actually answer them.

There's some irony here. You say time is a valuable resource, yet advocate that people "waste" their time watching/reading a guide instead of playing the game to save YOU some time with possibly a faster dungeon run. Some people have limited play time, and if they have an hour or two they want it to be an hour or two playing the game, not on google or youtube reading about the game they would prefer to play rather than watching others do it.
The other aspect has been mentioned a lot, there is a lot of fun experiencing things unspoiled. You get surprised by the design of the dungeon, of the mobs and the boss. Seeing mechanics fresh with being spoiled is gives you those "oh shit" moments that makes the experience so much fun and exciting.
That being said, I do understand the frustration it can cause people who have done these dozens of times. It's one of those things where someone's experience is affected in a negative manner, and there's no perfect solution.
i will watch video guide when i go for extreme/savage raid, and even after i clear it, i will make sure i clear atleast 5 more times in other learning pt before join a farming pt to make sure every wipe won't be my mistake
but in other hand, if i go for normal dungeon, 8 man normal raid or 24 man raid for this first time, i will do it blind, and if someone tell me this, i will just report them for harasement, one thing i hate the most is the backseat gaming
It's to wonder how the people making the guide do, I mean, they don't have a guide.
I go into content blind with friends who are also going in blind, because I don't like being a burden to the team unless everyone is on the same page. It's called being considerate.
Your solution of PF is available for people who wish to challenge themselves too.
Because that basically never happens. Basically no one in this game is willing to admit or own up to mistakes or mention that they're new to a fight. They will just wipe a group in silence multiple times and no one can say anything because the ToS will clock you.
Giving advice on fights? That's unsolicited advice, you will get your head ripped off 9 times out of 10 for that too. And possibly reported.
If the content is old (note I said "old content" in my previous post), I think you should at least glance over a text guide for 2 mins before jumping in.Dunno, I still find it pretty ridiculous people think others should go watch guides for content that requires the bare minimum effort to explain.
Expecting a play-by-play at the arena entrance to the boss is just lazy imo.
I'm saying there's nothing wrong with glancing over a text guide for 2 mins before jumping into old content. Not asking people to write a dissertation. There's some irony here. Also, I never advocated using video guides. I don't really advocate using them at all; they are rarely done with the communities best interests in mind, instead thrown out as soon as possible to garner clicks and likes.
One needs only to look towards the travesty that is Alphascape savage guides this tier, where guide creators implement progression strategies in there, and we get stuck with dumb strats like dps in... But I digress.
There's nothing wrong with this when everyone is on the same page. I just think its a bit inconsiderate otherwise. The other aspect has been mentioned a lot, there is a lot of fun experiencing things unspoiled.
Would have helped me last night. I generally skim a guide prior to going into a dungeon for the first time...skimmed right over that part when I looked up Qarn. A big thank you to those that put up with me on that one, and for helping me understand the rest as well. Finished the rest of the dungeon with no issues. There are guides that literally tell you how to conduct the entire run/fight, down to the smallest detail. I, personally, don't care for those kinds of guides. My main reason for going to guides for information is to know which mechanics can be problematic and how to pass said mechanics.
Take, for example, Sunken Temple of Qarn (normal). The doom mechanic is nice to know about in advance.
Now you just changed the entire discussion, from what the discussion actually is: Someone asking for assistance, should be able to receive the information in normal duties as the explanation is often less than a line to type. Your scenario is now: "this person doesn't want help", and that's not the scope of the topic.

But it's also lazy to think no one deserves help even if it's just a quick quip of "stand here for x."
So the "lazy" argument is just circular and everyone is lazy. You're lazy for not wanting to answer a question, the person asking is lazy for not knowing the answer. It's a really stupid discussion.

My scenario is actually "in my experience, people don't want unsolicited advice, so I don't provide it."Now you just changed the entire discussion, from what the discussion actually is: Someone asking for assistance, should be able to receive the information in normal duties as the explanation is often less than a line to type. The discussion as a whole is unchanged.
The part which I specifically called lazy is the scenario where at the start of a fight, everyone's ready for the pull and then one person asks for a full rundown on the boss, in content that has been out for a while. But it's also lazy to think no one deserves help even if it's just a quick quip of "stand here for x."

In my opinion, that's lazy because that information is readily available.
Everything else, I said was inconsiderate. There's a difference.
Also, I never said no one deserves help, and I never said I wouldn't give a "quick quip", or type out a "less than a single line". I said the situation doesn't present itself with any sort of frequency.
If its an extream/savage Ill watch a video otherwise lmao no you nerds. Id rather learn from doing instead of watch a 10 minute video before I dare do a dungeon, what a scandal.
I am watching no shadowbringer dungeon or trial guides and none of anyones whining or name calling will change that.

I agree, too an extent. Current savage and ex primal. Absolutely watch a guide for those before you go in and waste people's time because you couldn't be bothered to get a basic concept of mechanics before going in. Any other content is just total faceroll (hell even ex primals for the most part. I miss you Thordan
