i didn't know achievment's item was mandatory. if it's too much for you, don't do it
im surprised it took you 4 hours, took me 2i just completed the 2nd achievement 300 mines at a tier 2 for Thanalan.
it took me almost 4 hours....
tier 3 1000 (12 hours) , tier 4 2000 (24 hours), tier 5 4000 (48 hours) and then you are 1/3 the way done so thats round
12+36+72+144 = 264 hours mining before you can get the gold pickaxe....
Ok fine its a long term goal and it makes since if your starting level 1 to have something to work along side 50, but what if your already 50? I have nothing to show for my already accomplished hard work. THIS SUCKS. Can't you let level 50 people earn double achievement points? Not that npc'ing copper ore at level 50 isnt a lot of fun over say... ANYTHING ELSE.
but even then thats alot of time
add in the fat you will be fatigue gathering if you try to sit through the 3/4/5 grade achievments in a single sitting so you have to split those up or get no drops.
so far im done with all grade 1-2
im dont with bloodshore grade 3
ill finish cedarwood in the next few hundred swings tonight
and im already 500 deep into iron lake at least
thats not counting secondarys which i have a ton done for too
unlike you, i am massively loving the ammount of materials i am getting, even if its not all that great, i can reuse it all for my crafting achievments, and the leftovers all get sold for a pretty nice profit
and as usualy i must point out, 99% of all gathereres didnt earn these achievments to begin with so even if they went retroactive it wouldnt have mattered and youd still be spending 100+ hours, due to either leve leveling, or not doing several of the regions
and that, is pure fact

Then you realise that the tool is just bling, and that any crafted tool with some added materia is far betterAccording to your number(s) - 4hrs/day for 66 days straight will earn you your tool. Okay, let's assume you don't play every day and/or don't gather every day; round it up to 90 days +/- 5 days. So, approx. 3 months to get the 'best' tool there is for the class.
If these are in fact supposed to be the best crafting/gathering tools out there, I don't think 3 months (or even close to 4) is really an excessive amount of time. I mean, once you get to 50 and once you get the tool... then what? o.O
/wrist?
Greetings everyone!
