Oh yeah I think I should've posted on the fem hrot thread.
I hope they make them look close to female ronso ^^
Lol to all who ragequit over this. Welp, I guess we all have our reasons to play. Personally I don't give 2 craps about this. The rules of the lore, tone and style of this game is all over the place.
Not that it's directly related, but I think the lack of male Mithra and female Galka was a somewhat interesting aspect of the lore off FF11, and added a certain mysterious vibe too it. Not that it was a stroke of genius from the devs or anything; it was most likely due to limitations.
First of all, just like you have said, everybody has their reasons to play. Then, female Mithra only and male Galka only were never something interesting and ppl either didnt care or didnt like it, but I never saw anyone say the liked the races being genderlocked specifically. Also, it was due to limitations that in FFXIV don't exist. In FFXIV the limitations are simply that the devs are trying to see if they can figure out how to keep the patch schedule with more than 16 modelsLol to all who ragequit over this. Well, there is a difference between creating only 1 gender in a 2 gender race (gender lock due to limitation, etc) and creating a 1 gender race, in lore. To say that no one likes the latter or don't care is demonstrably false. It's rather arrogant to simply assert that it's not interesting. In the case of FF14 the reason for gender locking (there are 2 genders in lore I guess, haven't checked) is due to limitation; that seems correct. Do we know anything about the lore? Perhaps SE will work the lore around the limitations to make it sound smart. You know, kinda like in FF11.First of all, just like you have said, everybody has their reasons to play. Lol, imagine if they make the lore like "..there are only female Viera", but then, after a while, cater to the backlash from the community. SE then have to make up some b******t lore why male Viera now exists. No, if the gender lock is in place even SE isn't dumb enough to not make room, in lore, for the other gender to exist ("male Viera have hiden underground for a 1000 years" or something lol). This is one of the reasons, I think, why the lore in mainstream MMOs like FF14 is so vague and all over the place. They need room in case of X because Y people could be unhappy, and we still need them to be happy, so we do Z because we need X now, in order for Y to be happy while still keeping the W people happy too.
Yeah, at least for lore reasons I honestly don't care what SE do. I'm guessing they will eventually make these races 2 genders if the backlash is hard enough. So to anyone who really don't like this decision, it's just to keep up the posts and threads.
Male Viera and female Hrothgar are already confirmed to exist in the lore, on similar terms to male mooncats. So it's irrelevant as a constraint.
The lore states that: Hrotgar is a matriarchal society on where everyone lives to catter to the needs of their queen (20% of hrotgar are female) which basically means that if they HAD to genderlock hrotgar it would makem uch more sense for them to be female only, considering a woman on their society can demand that all men start wearing the housemaid apron and never leave their houses, and all men in their society would most likely do so, with the other clan being the hrotgar who no longer serve the queen, but women still exist. As for viera, in FFTA viera is nothing more than a dream race and male viera don't exist (in fact, I believe EVERY single race was genderlocked there, even humans). In FFXII, which is where the lore of the Viera should be taken from, the onyl reason why we don't see male viera is that they live spearately from the females, and they were planned for the second part of the game I believe, but Matsuno left before their implementation. In FFXIV's lore, male viera are protectors of the forest, and cosnidering the reason why female viera left the wood, It would make more sense for the viera to be male onyl lore wise, due to the fact that the males are the ones who live closer to other societies.Well, there is a difference between creating only 1 gender in a 2 gender race (gender lock due to limitation, etc) and creating a 1 gender race, in lore. I still support the implementation of male Viera und female Hrothgar into FFXIV and hope that they will find their way into the game sooner or later. Especially after Yoshi-P's statement that they decided not to implement them was because of development time and financial reasons and not because of the game's Lore. Keep your hopes up that we might see them sometime in the future!![]()
I personalyl hope we can see them at 6.0!I still support the implementation of male Viera und female Hrothgar into FFXIV and hope that they will find their way into the game sooner or later. I honestly don't mind waiting until then. I have my hopes very high, but I think its wise to also keep expectations very low
Just popping back in to show my support for male viera again!
With this I think it's more likely SE will make the other genders eventually if limitations before the next expansion is the main issue. That is, if the backlash is great enough. And, as of now, it seems like it is. I mean, people unsubing etc. There are literary 0 lore reason not to include them.
