And besides I view quitting as giving up or whining and I'm not the type of person who gives up, I fight for what I think is right.
I completely agree, but i just want to say. if people feel they need to leave because no male Viera and no female Hrothgar then I say let them do as they please. Will they be back? Perhaps, who knows but i won't be ignorant about it and belittle someone because of their decision (This is not directed at you, I'm merely speaking in general after some of the threads I checked out). But in their minds if giving their feedback on something doesn't seem to helping then the best thing for them is to, in their minds, be heard in another way and that is to not pay for something they are unhappy with. Playing a game as if everything is fine and dandy would be more akin to giving up the fight rather than continuing the fight where as unsubbing would be the other way around. People have different views of fighting and giving up when it comes to games. Personally I don't think that it's merely a gender-locked race that is causing some to talk about unsubbing. Their could be other things and the locked races would merely be the icing on the cake, I don't know I'm not those players I'm just saying.

Well, it wasn't really "needed" to be asked at all.

There are plenty of detailed answers and point of views in the main threads already that could enlighten both sides of the coin but yeah just a little few are quitting over this and it's most of the time due to it being the last straw, not only for this.

And even if they can do whatever they want and they are completely right about it.

If people threaten to leave because they didn't get want they wanted...let them leave...its just petty.

What Yoshi-P should have done when he unveil the Viera at the EU Fan Fest, just came out & said no male vieras & then gave the ivalice & FF12 lore reasons why.

First of all, everyone has the right to leave if they want and be treated with respect.
Second of all just HOW MANY TIMES do we need to tell ppl that the lore is NOT the reason why we dont have male viera

some are serious, some aren't. they aren't entitled, they just feel as though their needs as a customer aren't being met so they choose not to subscribe to the game.

Out of any and all other Reasons........why is it Over Not having a playable Male Option for the Viera?

I get that people are upset about not getting something they want, but why literally ragequit an entire game over it?
95% it's all talk or they ragequit and come back. You just can't please everyone. Quite frankly I think it is really immature to rage-quit because of something so minor but to each their own.

Ultimately the issue is that Yoshida led people on and people felt their trust was betrayed by it. In Mr. Happy's interview Yoshida even admitted they went about it in a way that caused more issues than if they had been upfront.

Honestly, I kind of wish SE would take back some of the reins of their game. It is after all their game, their development time, their vision. I have nothing against fan feedback, but if its causing that much issue, then they should just come out and say it "IT DOESNT FIT IN OUR BUDGET OR OUR VISION" and there... nuff said, GTFO if you dont like it.

It's not like folks gripe and whine that much when stuff they'd like to have seen doesnt happen in a single player game.. they either quit or they suck it up and play the game and move on. Most wont even bat an eye at it, because they probably didnt know what they wanted or could have had anyways...

Had SE never made that poll on races way back in 1.X, Viera never would have been given a thought by most of the playerbase, let alone male vieras...

No, ultimately the issue was a group of people were continually convincing themselves they were getting male Viera and continued to hype themselves up and create their own expectations; even after (especially after) Viera were announced and not a male was in sight. Yoshida didn't lead people on, in fact, when asked about it in that same Fanfest he avoided saying anything that could "spoil" the Japanese Fanfest's reveals and simply directed players to reread the in-game lore (which pretty much says there are no male Viera running around in public as of yet). Yoshida didn't betray anyone's trust, the only betrayal was by some people's headcanon that got the better of them.

I just re-read that interview and seen no admittance on Yoshida's part that they "went about it in a way that caused more issues;" if you can find that statement, please direct me to it. In my opinion, I think you're conflating Yoshida's thoughts on announcing future job roles in advance to be "upfront" in what's coming in the next expansion.

(Maybe it has something to do all women living together and all men living together only getting together to reproduce.) The community didn't assume the race was full of gays but we related to them and could have projected a rejection of them as a rejection of us.

You may argue being gay has nothing to do with male viera but it was the first insult used to discredit them so it seems like everyone sees a connection on both sides.
See that is the problem with several things anymore. People read they comprehend to an extent but fail when it comes to context and content discernment this is a fault of the school educational system because they don't encompass a thorough reading comprehension program anymore. They accept that literate is good enough and hang the rest. The result is we have have unhoned critical thinking skills and thus will use our passion rather than our logic to sort through things. Logically thought through we can see that no actual insult or harm was ever intended. However passionately thought through with the information we received it looked as if it was a slap in the face.

This is why when we receive information we absolutely have to start sorting through it rationally and with as much critical thinking as we can hone ourselves become better informed gain new insight into things and from there break down the context of the content in as scientifically dispassionate regard as we can. Information has no intent it is simply an accumulation of data. Literature as in books or ebooks of the Fictional Sort, Fantasy, Mystery, Etc. Are there to be mixed with passion when read. Non Fiction: Information, Biographies, True Crime stories. Read with logic and thought through rationally.
