Playable kids in FFXIV

I'd rather not, the closest we've ever seen to this I think is the Moonfire Faire from last year having the one young Miqo girl in a swimsuit. You can try to argue lalas but realistically they are just dwarves(Even more so with the First being a thing). Adults that have small bodies so you'll be judged but they wouldn't already have those risque outfits in the game for them otherwise.

Rather not have the best MMO on the market be plagued with "It's great for lolicon/shotacon immersion" as a selling point if they were going to attempt this.

I thought they had playable children in the game.. I think they're called Lalafels?

Lalafel just look like children, From the way they look, to the size, to even the way they walk.

Physiologically, they're proportionate dwarves. The alternative to that is to assume every lalafel is between 3 and 4 years old (the only time during a normal development cycle where a persons head to body ratio is the same as a lalafel).



I think theres probably a range of things people think of when they ask about 'younger' characters, ranging from "every highlander option looks like theyre significntly older than everyone else can there be more looks that fit with everyone else" to "why cant i look like hilda or some of the npc elfboys" to "I want to look like the lev twins" to "Cant I just be a young teenager?".

I can understand some of those.

Usually when I see this I remember everyone in FFXI wanted to play a soldier brigade from the expansion Wings of the Goddess.



Not once I heard people talk down to each other about it but this day and age people accuse others of stuff jumping to conclusions like you are doing, do I believe there should be young characters No because of mods that's it.

people have to remember if you are age 30 playing a young character you aren't a kid people mix this up then go on the attack like you are actually a young child being attacked treating them like a child even calling another person who could be their wife in real life playing a character a name and they don't think like you at all.

Not sure if Im understanding this, but is your suggestion that NPC kids merely being in swimwear is already to much for a game???

I can understand some of those.

Part of the issue, as some are demonstrating, is that if you even think about having a more youthful looking character that could be mistaken for a teen at a glance, youre obviously a predator and terrible human being. That might sound hyperbolic, but there is an implicit argument among some of these posts that are suggesting that would be the only reason for having those options. It's going straight to the worst case scenario and saying that if you dont agree, youre a closet pedo. Everyone wants to be quick on condemning pedophilia and predatory behavior as not acceptable, that they are overcompensating and screaming that any thought of having a more youthful character is signs of being a terrible human being.

What I mean to suggest is people need to cool it with the innuendos about that and just address points directly made rather than all this strawmaning and hand waving.
