for players that are leeching (e.g., back before 24-mans auto-zoned you in and some players would back out of a boss room to avoid participating).

Or repop instead of waiting for a raise, or plain refuse raises. That's an instant vote-kick for me.

It really depends, apart from the case I just mentioned, you really need to put a lot to trigger a vote-kick with me in regular content. Most of the time, I don't read party / alliance chat if there's nothign wrong so I'm out of the drama. Sometimes some runs take a long time and I just think "it happens" so I won't track whose fault it is.

In a Savage / Extreme primal setting, I've seen some kicks due to underperformance of players (healers mostly but sometimes DPS), and while I agree it's annoying I think it's fair as long as it's justified : we died on a healing/DPS check several, there's a problem. In the end, everyone is losing their time so I'll agree at some point you need to break the team and start again.

Besides obvious AFKs I only started a vote-kick that one time when our healer in Aurum Vale (level 47 dungeon) was a druid(!). I didn't know his reasons as he never answered in chat, but it was pretty soon pretty clear that he couldn't keep us alive so we had to let him go.

I've been kicked in dungeons such as Swallow's Compass because I was in the same class as the co-dps while the three premades were farming gear for Ucob.
I've been kicked for just addressing poor performance and how it is a poor performance without being disrespectful in the least.
Sometime i've been plain toxic, not heavy insults, just telling people that they're just ruining content with how they're doing and not been kicked.
Like today, O12 normal, was farming to buy a weapon. Tank stacked meteors everybody aside the tanks and one healer that was far enough died. LB3 up, healer stood casting stone. For 15+seconds while that poor PLD clemenced as much as he could.
After 30 seconds he finally did LB after tanks died and mechanics were popping off, causing tanks to not be there and me and another dps took the syncro Omega Lb2 melee bladedance.
Honest I think it depends on people you meet, some doesn't care others are fine as long as you just do your job. But if we had wiped (We luckily still managed to clear that O12), I'd have vote kick that healer, which many other wouldn't and just see me as an "elitist dick". I just kick afk/offline and people that after being lv70 in not exactly casual content I.E. Ex Trial and Omega 11/12, refuses to follow the least mechanic, making the whole encounter harder for the party.
Dps that doesn't follow their rotation are grey zone, I'd kick them depending on how the rest of party is doing.

People like to up-play their bad anecdotal experiences making it seem like it happens everywhere, all the time for dramatic effect. They also have a bad case of leaving out either most or half the story behind why they were "Unjustly kicked" from the group and try to make claims like they were the good guy that didn't do anything wrong. The chances are if anyone is being kicked from a group that much, they are most likely being incredibly antagonistic towards other players, deliberately lashing out at others trying to help them or doing something that borders on trolling that is holding the group back. It does not happen as much as they claim it does and when it does it's usually for a good reason. There are exceptions to the rule of course, but it's not as common as they make it seem.

I've only been kicked once in the 5 years this game has been out and that's only because I was constantly being called away during the raid. I completely understood why they kicked me and had no complaints. I too don't understand how people can be constantly kicked from raids and then complain about it being unfair.

I don't kick all that often, but if I do it's usually because someone's starting drama. Even if it doesn't go through (it usually does), it does a fantastic job of stopping the drama cold.

Trying to play the game/learn the game = No one is probably going to try to kick you.
Not starting drama = No one is probably going to try to kick you.

It's the players that continuously play bad, and start the "you don't pay my sub" crap that end up getting kicked. Even if you play terrible and get carried to Stormblood - eventually someone is going to take notice.

If you've been trying to better yourself, take criticism, and read up on your skills since you started playing. Odds are that others think you're a decent/good player.

The kick system is rarely abused, and abusing it is a reportable offence. Odds are when someone says they were unjustly kicked, you aren't getting the whole story.

A vote kick went up for the healer, I said now and it still went through. That was bs so I left and ate the penalty.

So it does happen but I dont know how much, thats the only one I really remember because it pissed me off.

Move faster to kick the tank in this situation.

Your inaction was interpreted as your compliance with them taking it out on the healer.
