    I did this while light farming for my DRG relic a while back. Since I was doing alliance roulette for tomes anyway, may as well get some guaranteed light while I'm at it.

    I used to do this for any brand new raid, 24man or otherwise because I would clear and get my rewards on reset day, meaning i was locked out of gear and token rolls. Rather than take the chance to end up in the newest raid the next day, I would lower my ilvl just below the recent one.
