They should have started the demolition timer when 4.57 released. I hadn't logged in for a month (still been paying my sub for months just to keep my house) and was away for a couple weeks so lost my house when I logged in May 2. Really, really pissed about that.

Seems to be a lot of people about - has the recent migration made any difference to which servers are congested ? I'm on Ragnarok and would have moved to a quieter server if I'd have been able to log on during the free transfer period.

Just in case you get another house or an fyi for anyone else reading this (tell all your friends too!): Just keeping an active sub is NOT enough to keep your house. You need to enter your HOUSE (the actual building, by clicking on the door and everything, not just the yard) to reset the timer.

Ishgard reminds me of Windhelm from skyrim. I loved that town, I had my main base there. Going out to look at the grayness, snow, freezing orphans outside, mysterious homicides, it was the best atmosphere for me. I'd be the first to relocate to Ishgard subdivision

Uhuh I have been doing that for years. I've hardly played the last couple of years but have kept up my sub to log into my house regularly. I got caught out this time because they restarted demolitions but they didn't reset the timer so I thought it was safe (was away for a few weeks).

I didn't want this. This is awful and frustrating and I've basically wasted 7 hours (just this morning) clicking menus and praying and I still don't have a house.

Housing should be an instanced area that every player is afforded.

I also feel that they could make private housing client side (as part of the launcher)
That way you could jump into your house when they are updating, or server crashes.
When server is back up it would connect to game once you log in and update game data.

You could still invite people to your home on a client side instance hosted by your own pc.

I like the idea, but it sounds like it would be open to abuse. Client-side player data of almost any kind can be modified to give players an unfair advantage. Phantasy Star Online had a major problem with cheaters because player data was kept on a memory card and modifiable to the unscrupulous.
