Ishgard is cold and depressing. Unless they offer instanced housing, no thanks. It might be hard for me to find a source given it was one line of dialogue in the fanfest and it wasn't written on any of the slides. It could take me hours to find that tiny snippet. But I can tell you I saw it for myself and it was Koji Fox who said it. It was during a series of lines that were like "players have been saying 'we love Ishgard, we want to be in Ishgard, we want to <insert dramatic pause> live in Ishgard'" /crowd goes wild.
And that was all that was said about it. I seriously doubt they would tease that if they weren't planning something.

I adore Ishgardian lore but I have to admit that I have some concerns over housing there. Ishgard is very very very very VERY grey. And where it's not grey it's white with snow and ice. This colour palette will get old very fast if the housing is done in the same style as the city.
However there is the Sea of Clouds, and we know Ishgard is trying to colonise the area. If the housing is located there I would be super interested.

"Yoshida:
We've heard a lot from players around the world.
I want to see aymeric again..
I want to go back to Ishgard..
I want to live in Ishgard..
But to do that, the crafters and gathers are going ot have to unite, to rebuild and restore."

Ishgard reminds me of Windhelm from skyrim. I loved that town, I had my main base there. Going out to look at the grayness, snow, freezing orphans outside, mysterious homicides, it was the best atmosphere for me. I'd be the first to relocate to Ishgard subdivision![]()
Ishgard housing (hoping it's instanced) with this playing wheew https://youtu.be/_YKHKBgfQf0![]()
Agreed. For me, even more than the housing design itself (which you can change with some effort), the design of the wards are most important to me. It's why I like Mist more than Shiro- I like the bright, white sandy beaches all facing towards the beach as opposed to beachside housing facing backward or sideways like Shiro.I adore Ishgardian lore but I have to admit that I have some concerns over housing there. If Ishgard housing is coming and I don't like the area, I'll probably see if I can relocate my current Shiro mansion to one that opens in The Mist instead and maybe skin it with the Ishgard housing skin if its cool.
Skyrim was the best!

They should have started the demolition timer when 4.57 released. I hadn't logged in for a month (still been paying my sub for months just to keep my house) and was away for a couple weeks so lost my house when I logged in May 2. Really, really pissed about that.Square Enix suspended the auto-demolition due to the hurricanes being so brutal last year. The reactivated it this past patch so there should be a mass demolition of houses 45 days after that. June 6th or 7th should be a day A LOT of houses explode at the exact same moment.
Seems to be a lot of people about - has the recent migration made any difference to which servers are congested ? I'm on Ragnarok and would have moved to a quieter server if I'd have been able to log on during the free transfer period.
I guess the trick would be messing with weather and lighting, and giving some good color options for the house walls or something. I actually really love the look of Ishgard, and the snowy atmosphere, but I can see it all getting a bit same-y if everything is all gray all the time lolI adore Ishgardian lore but I have to admit that I have some concerns over housing there. That's the aesthetic some people dig. In fact I'm sure it's why some people want it. I've seen victorian/gothic styled homes with Adam's Family decor plopped in the middle of Mists. Let me wallow in rigid social structure misery thank you.I adore Ishgardian lore but I have to admit that I have some concerns over housing there. Ishgard is very very very very VERY grey.
