There is no good way to fix this, it can't be fixed. Make it easier and trolls come in easier, make it harder and alot of them will be "elitist" , keep it like this and its still bad.

I maintain the only way to fix this would be to make it less shiny. Make it something boring, with a specific intended purpose being, to actually mentor new/returning players as it was meant. There would be less of them, but the few that there would be would probably be there for it's intended purpose.

There really are people that do it for an ico crown? (I'm really asking)

If bad player could be out of mentor with just a icon change I'm all for that. I personnaly couldn't care less about an icon. Even more as I don't see them as I tend to disable nameplate.

This got mentioned in another thread maybe even by you? I thought it was a cute idea! I might even mentor then! I dislike the crown for some reason. Plus a watering can makes you think of helping things grow not the be all end all expert in everything (king).

I know it has been mentioned before, which is why I brought it up.

And that's a good point about the king's crown. I think I'm half decent at content. I have never done SAVAGE or Stormblood's EX's outside Susano and Lakshmi on launch. And that's it. I don't like the idea of people thinking I should know just because I have a crown by my name. I want to help new players. Guide them around the interface, early class/job questions and answer lore related stuff. Not effortlessly recite every aspect of Ravana (Hard).

I know I can do this without a crown, but I think the perspective of a brand new lv1 should be taken into account.
