GARO Collaboration Set to End in Patch 5.1

I would absolutely love to have a collection system like that. Despite WoW currently tailspinning they at least have that going for them. But anyway, the mounts were Ginga, Goten and Raigo. You had to win 10 Frontlines for Ginga, 30 Feast matches for Goten and 60 Frontlines/Feast matches (combined count) for Raigo. But you had/have to have a Garo title equipped from completing any set. No idea if that's what you got but wanted to at least provide some information.

Yeah, I got all three of those mounts on my old character. So they are related to Garo? Nice. And man, I did a lot of PVP back in those days, even did it to complete farming light for my HW anima, which is another thing I'm not doing on this character, lol. I guess I gave up a lot of things when I gave up my old character, still enjoy the game though.

Feels a little odd that they're removing it this long after. I'm sure there's some reason for it but it's been there for like half of HW and all of SB only to go away in the first major patch of ShB? I'd normally expect a collab to be permanant like monster hunter or list like a couple months like the FFXIV one.

Guessing their business contract with the GARO tv show is ending and not being renewed.

If you are only aiming to get these for glamour and not the achievements,mounts, etc. You can just as easily get glamour versions of them at lvl1 in the golden saucer.

They're also undyeable versions.

It's a shame they never added any new items to the Garo event. I was hoping they'd eventually add a 4th Mount, since we had 4 Makai Knight armors.

It took me forever to get just the Ginga!. Guess I'll start doing feast maybe I can scratch at least that one in.. If I can get queues..

Tip: it's easier to get wins in the Feast because everyone has to carry their weight, and thus your chance of getting screwed by randomness is lessen.

Feast ranked is frustrating as hell. That really isn't the case you have tons of healers who shouldn't be queuing ranked as healers. I tried it a couple times, decided I wasn't ready and stuck with what I was actually decent at.

If you spread this out until 5.1, I think anyone who tries can get this done relatively quickly, with minor headaches. After all of it I think the Ginga is still the hardest mount of them to get (if you are starting from scratch). Frustratingly, I should have already been over halfway to the 60 win mount, but most of my Frontline wins were without the Makai title on.

Hi, I was one of those "healers". Guess what? By the end of my horse grind, I was doing very respectable in ranked PvP. You can't get better if you don't try.

Yeah, but the horse grind is a means to an end. I personally don't have any intentions of playing anymore of that crap. I highly doubt I'll ever get top 100 unless I really try to grind ranked. Anyway, as a means to an end - the end getting wins - and if you are playing a class you aren't amazing at all you would be doing is dragging you and your team down, and getting no wins. I lost the couple times I played my WHM. I definitely wasn't ready for the high paced burst having hardly ever healed anything PvP wise other than frontline. Knew I was dragging my team down and gave it up. Yeah, the only way to get better at a specific role is to practice, but is ranked PvP really the place to be practicing a role? I mean, I guess you won't get any feast queues for anything but ranked..

I played with you? I don't think you were a bad healer if I am remembering correctly. I think I remember a decepticon not sure if it was you though.

Sad thing is, I usually main PvP in mmorpgs that I play. It's just ass in this game. Like really ass. Feast in particular has a gigantic focus on the healer, and if the healer isn't up to par you are just gonna lose doesn't matter how good the rest of the team is, literally... unless the other team's is somehow worse, or equivalent. Yeah, there are other factors like positioning, and tank cc, amount of burst your team's dps can push out, but a healer who knows when and how to heal in any given situation is paramount, and seems to be the most important role in FFXIV's 'The Feast' ranked, bar none.

Meanwhile, my experience is no one bothers to actually protect their healer, so we lose because I'm too busy dealing with an obnoxious tank or NIN no one is paying attention to whatsoever.
