GARO Collaboration Set to End in Patch 5.1

* Previously earned gear, mounts, and titles will remain usable after Patch 5.1.
* Gear you have previously earned can still be obtained from the Calamity Salvager after Patch 5.1.

Unusable is unusable. Which makes it seem kind of a Wolf Mark sink to just buy the items for screenshots. However, Calamity Salvager makes it sound like they "will" be provided we earned it in the first place.

So which is it? Is it weird wording for the first part?

Sounds like it's so that if you earned it and tossed it at some point you can still recover it.
But for people who didn't earn it during the event period, they won't be able to get it.

At least that's what the Calamity Salvager does for other things, right?

It means if you already have it you can still use it aka we aren't deleting your items that you already earned. Just means the Priest NPC won't be there which means you can't buy the sets anymore, and you can't finish the achievements which means you can't earn the mounts making them missable.

IIRC the Salvager replacement items unlock when you actually buy the stuff with marks/get the achievement, but since you won't be able to buy the stuff anymore/get the achievements with the NPC gone whatever you unlock before they remove it is what is going to be on there indefinitely.

The Calamity Salvager will let you buy back any gear if you unlocked the equivalent Garo job achievement. The salvager only recognises the achievements so even if you bought all the gear, if you haven't talked to the priest NPC to unlock the achievement, the salvager won't sell it to you.

Started working on these again about a week ago. Seems like I picked a good time to finish the achievements out.

If you are only aiming to get these for glamour and not the achievements,mounts, etc. You can just as easily get glamour versions of them at lvl1 in the golden saucer.

There is a means to get the gear and weapons at least while not doing PVP

Even if you don't like PvP it's not too bad, just embrace it in the bursts and take advantage of that roulette daily bonus. For the hardcore PvP this achievement is pretty easy to grind though, minus the part of having to level everything to 60 first if you're no where near that lol.

Basically if you see this and you don't have it start now and you'll probably get it relatively calmly over a long period of time (or quickly with a day or so pure binge of PvP).

If you don't like the mounts or look of the armor (mage/ranged looks distinctly different from the power ranger melee gear) make sure to buy the Heroic Spirit Shield as it's (I think) the only way to hide your Paladin shield if you had wanted to do that.
