Nearly 400 pages of male bunnies but not even 90 for buff cat girls. And people had the gall to call out devs for sexism and base fanservice.

I would prefer to compare amount of likes on OP instead of amount of pages in threads tbh. Though even in likes Females thread is behind, but not that much.

Well that's true. Though the thread itself has so much off-topics and fights that if delete them it can lose about 100 pages at least.
I am up for female Hroths, really, though can't say for others from male Viera thread. I typically don't play female characters, but if I ever would it would be female Highlander (wanted to create one when bought the game tbh but noticed male Miqo) or Roe because they are cool. And it's quite ironically that all my favorite options (female Highlander/Roe + male Miqo'te) did not exist in 1.0 and were released because of playerbase asking so I see no reason for not support this thread for myself. And if there ever will be an implementing for missing genders I most likely will end up at creating at least an alt for female Hroth.

I'm sure most of the views come from people who want to watch a train wreck. The number of "likes" on the first post is what matters. Although this thread is a little behind in likes, it's still the second most liked post on the official forums as far as I know. I do admit male viera is probably more popular.

For sure, a lot of those views definitely came from the initial knee-jerk reaction. There is definitely no denying it. I just think there is a bias because if you look at the spreadsheet I posted in my last post, if you go to the "Shadowbringers Purchase Affected In Depth" and "Subscription Affected In Depth" tabs you can see that a huge amount of people that said they canceled their sub/no longer plan on buying SHB said that it was due to no male Viera, specifically. Granted, the highest % is people saying that it's due to no female Hrothgar and male Viera both, but ~44% say that it's due to neither being in the game, ~34% say it's due to no male Viera, and ~2% say it's due to no female Hrothgar.I'm sure most of the views come from people who want to watch a train wreck. Yeah, if I were to make a guess, I think more people actually want to play as a male viera. A lot of people who want female hrothgar added to the game seem to want them included on principle, but not because they would actually play them. That's just me speculating, though.
Honestly, I would be fine if they only added male viera and no female hrothgar, but I'd feel bad for the people who would like to play as one.
It was unintended, but you gave me a general frame of time for how long it would take to create a model. They began working on viera around 4.1, right? At least, I think Yoshida said they began working on the viera model at the beginning of heavensward. Let's hypothetically say SE wants to add one of the missing genders. It wouldn't be out of the realm of possibility to get one of them by 5.5-5.8 or so. I could be wrong. I really don't know what it takes to make a new model, but it was just an observation from how long you said it took to create the viera model.
By the way, can you share your source for when the viera model was ready?

We could see models for male Viera or female Hrothgar by 5.5, similar to how they showed off Fran's model in 4.5. However, it is extremely unlikely we'd get them as playable until the next expansion after SHB, since they have to focus first and foremost on getting the actual entirety of the expansion's content ready for access - which is what their resources go towards. Unless they are planned as part of later 5.0 patch cycles, which they most definitely aren't, it's basically a snowball's chance in hell. Getting them out mid-expansion would cut into what they had originally planned and we'd see the effects of that in ways like bare-bones raids, visual effects, etc on top of the additional workload stress on the team. A good possibility that the races' counterparts would be negatively affected as well.
Regarding which one would get released, I highly doubt SE would release one without the other because then one group would be getting the short end of the stick, and they'd get claims of sexism/pandering from either group.

Search keyword "Fixed model." Note that he says that, I am fairly certain that "fixed model" means the models that had a full set of animations. I remember reading about him saying that the animation set they'd made for Fran was limited at the time as well, I will check to see if I can find a source on that as well.
