Yes, I think it's great to report someone who just spoiled a movie that came out less than 24 hours ago, a blockbuster no less that many people will want to go see, and did it in Shout chat, meaning possibly everyone in the instance got spoiled.

If you think this is something quite trivial and useless, I'm glad you don't set the ToS.

I don't care much if some random player calls me an idiot or other names or whatever ingame, because I don't know the person, they don't know me and whatnot. It's an online world, I blacklist them and move on.
But if someone with bad intentions spoils my fun like ruining the movie I was going to see, I would report them because for me this is harassment and actually hits me where it "hurts" [or 'matters', because it will affect an event in my life and the enjoyment of it]

Sorry that happened to you, OP. In terms of FFXIV, when we have a major patch, I hide chat completely until I finish MSQ. People love shouting spoilers and it sucks. I assume doing it is considered harassment, but I don't know for sure. I've personally never seen anyone get a slap on the wrist for it. If it's true that that isn't allowed, I don't see why this wouldn't fall under that ruling as well. The intent is pretty clear.

However, I think it's more about technical part of gameplay, not about story. And while spoilers can be hurtful, I don't think you can really report for them.

Actually, it would fall under whatever section they have for player harassment (I forget where it is). If that person kept talking about it even after being told to stop, that's a guaranteed punishment since it legally classifies as harassment, and GMs would have to abide by that.

Most of the reports players make are useless since most reports are just made because someone feels offended by nothing. I think you have no idea for what people write reports, i mean the op already gives a good idea.
Reports should only be filed if someone is cheating, botting, bugusing, harassing or heavily insulting someone. Everything else is a useless report.

someone spoiling in Eureka is harrassment. Its solely meant to piss people off. A lot of thing that are reportable are also subjective. SE is telling you if you create enough of an emotional reaction, they may action you.

with the last tos, they are clearly trying to change the social contract of ffxiv. They actively dont want people griefing/hurting each other. Its all good to say something isnt a big deal, to a lot of people it might not be. But they will consider how much the person was offended into whether they take action, according to the tos.

Is this real life? It’s amazing that adults no longer have the ability to just say “wow that was a jerk move” and roll their eyes and maybe feel annoyed for a little while and then move on. People seem to just love running to whatever authorities are in charge to have people shut down over the silliest things. And no I really don’t see the ending of a movie as being a serious matter, especially not one worthy of actually wanting a persons account in a completely unrelated area potentially sanctioned. Reporting over that seems just as petty and childish to me as spoiling the movie.

But, the new TOS are definitely in favor of reporting everyone and anyone over literally anything, so have at I guess? I mean with the way that thing is worded someone could probably get a GM to punish someone else for leaving their character afk for too long in one of the city states if they insisted they were emotionally scarred by having to see the other character’s face every time they ran by.

Just to be fair, ignoring bad attitude because you are an "adult" is a bad habit. Bad attitude should be punished.

Still, I doubt that spoilers are reportable. It can depends on context though, if people continue to scream around when you ask them to stop - it can be considered as form of harassment.

I suppose there will be some people who would report for such things, but don't think GM will ever react to such reports.
