Is it too much to ask for a social FC or do I need to lower my expectations?

Some people join FC's and never say a word. It's beyond me how some people don't even meet the minimum for sociality.

Some do not like to talk randomly in the chat unless they get addressed by someone.
The sheer activity in chat or otherwise could be enough for them to feel part of it.
