    i'm not convinced. that would seem to me a very flimsy attempt to connect the two. i believe these are ideas the dev's had after the project was finished, similarities they noticed and thought we'll connect the two, to add a bit more story/legend. if they had really set off with the plan of making 10 and 7 a connected game we would have a real sense of this, not just a few obscure hints, but proper mention. we would have the sort of proof where a FF fan would beable to play the game and know for them self that the 2 are connected and not need to be told in an interview.

    and its bad story telling if you have to re-explain something to the fans because it was so obscure they missed it

    You guys can deny it all you want but, it is canon
    Oh and I for one love all of the Final Fantasy games (atleast the main series ones). They dont all have to be the same thing as before to make them great. There was virtually nothing wrong with FFXIII. Linear? It's totally okay that it is. Sometimes too much freedom can be a bad thing (Skyrim, Armory System).
