To answer your other question: cross-class emnity generation moves for PGL (Sentinel, Flash, Provoke, Rampart?) can only help your tanking and don't require you to go that far in other classes. You don't need them, but your DDs need to know what they're doing if you only have Taunt or they'll get themselves killed.

Your DD's better know a better tank then >.>

Seriously... if you're aiming to be a tank in the end, level everything you need to get the enmity gaining skills you will be expected to have. And then level conjurer, because you'll be expected to have that as well. Why take a tank who only has taunt when you can take a tank who has bloodbath, second wind, can AOE heal for massive hate cuz of cure/sacred prism, provoke, taunt, flash, sentinel, rampart, etc etc. It's pretty easy to find a tank with all the recommended classes leveled, so honestly if you're wanting to be a main tank you got a lot of work to do.

If you want to do a job that doesn't require a lot of classes leveled, pick up thm and con. You'll need to level both up to be ideal, and you'll also need pugilist 6 and gladiator 22 (and arc 42 for chameleon will save your ass a ton of trouble). To be a solid melee dps you'll have to level a lot more classes than that leveled, and even moreso if you want to be a respectable tank.

I'm not trying to discourage you by saying any of this, though, Mr. Original Poster. The beauty of this game is the cross-classing of skills. You can't just level a class to 50, then scream out, "One and done!" You got to hop on board with the next one and grind it up as well. Every class is reliant on certain others, if you want to perform well. It's a crucial part of the game, much like subjobs were for 11. We may have not LIKED leveling subs, but it was critical. Though, i personally loved any excuse to play around on another job back in 11.
