That's more of a question for the crowd who want female Hrothgar to answer, since I don't have any particular investment in their look, other than not wanting it to be miqo'te 2.0.

When the game's story becomes self-aware:
I was going to paint a viera, but then I looked at the time and noticed why I was getting tired. Here he is anyway, the same... ridiculous thief I first drew. Growing up in close proximity to Stan Sakai has really made me associate rabbits with samurai and I just can't... stop doing it... He's enjoying some tea. Perhaps we all should have a cup and relax~Except for me, the tannin in the stuff makes me sick.
I remember female ronso being very, very similar to male ronso, albeit a little slimmer. They could go the same route with the lady hr... rh... the lionesses. I'm sure that people would be happy with them no matter what as long as they weren't just... generic ladies with ears and tails. There's a wild aesthetic that they're gonna be wanting, and slightly catified Merlwyb just wouldn't cut it. They'd have to look like they just crawled out of the jungle. (Of course, bumping their head on a male viera happening to be crawling his way out of the jungle across the way at the same time.)
If there's something high I will definitely fall off of it
Well yeah, I don't really care about the interview that much either. Just like I said, I wouldn't care about anything that ancient, I included both the interview and the concept art in that. Concept art just doesn't guarantee anything. We see this same thing happen again and again. If we're going down the "ancient" route, the interview is even older and less relevant, particularly since unlike the art, next to no one knew about it, and it predated it. The art, meanwhile, has been widely circulated. It is not unreasonable for people to base expectations on it when it was originally brought about when the race's introduction was first contemplated. Yes, it did not make it past the concept stage - at that point. Naturally, it would go through further iterations - again, something you would expect. What was not expected, for reasons articulated already, was that they would just drop the males, when they already had something in mind for them.
The concept art shown at the EU Fanfest would be consistent with the notion that they were saving the males as a surprise for JP Fanfest. Only after JP Fanfest did the decision to make them female only actually come out.
We're going in circles on this and I don't really see anything being brought to the table which is going to change my mind on the matter. Obscure interviews, unreliable leaks and allusions to lore that did not suffice to invoke gender-locks on other occasions is really not clear communication.
It's an apples and oranges (carrots?) comparison in terms of how well known they were. Agreed that concept art guarantees nothing but we also have their past history on gender-locks to consider. The fact of the matter is, they could have handled this a lot better.

Completely off topic, but don't give your bunbuns carrots unless it's just as a small treat. It's not good for them. Carrots has actually a lot of sugar in them that can cause tooth decay and other problems for our furry little friends. I'm pretty sure most people actually knows this but I figure it wouldn't hurt to mention it.![]()
Well I was considering a diet of carrots covered in deep fried chocolate, but now that you say that...
When the game's story becomes self-aware:
It’s not wise to use the introduction of Male Miqo’te and Female Roes as a precedent/argument for them doing so for Viera/Hrothgar.
That was a decision taken during the transition from 1.0 to 2.0 when consumer confidence was at it's absolute lowest point and they needed every advantage they could get to bring people back including potentially compromising their own creative vision for the game (monogender playable races amongst them).
That was an exceptionally critical- Unique even - period in this game’s lifespan that has not been replicated since.
There are good reasons that they might add the other genders and good reasons they might not. But M.Miqo’te and F.Roe is realistically indicative of nothing in the current situation and that fact shouldn’t be held against the Devs should they decide not to add the genders later on.
they already knew wht people wanted, after learning from their first mistake and now double down on their mistake once again, against the will of most of the players. can't say they didn't had it coming.
Important rp information!Completely off topic, but don't give your bunbuns carrots unless it's just as a small treat. It's not good for them. Yup. Lots of people feeling bad for SE should understand that it's only their fault and they are the ones that chose to do something that nobody asked for, so now they can face the consequences
