Makes no sense for them to reveal new genders/races before 6.0 other than a generic we're considering it and steal the thunder from 6.0 but I suppose we'll see.

What you see as them "stealing the thunder" from 6.0 would allow them to get ppl 10 times more hyped for shadowbringers with only needing to show a concept art and saying they are coming. Also I repeat once again that you don't know if they are coming in 6.0 7.0 or 5.1,so they could very well be coming in the expansion, and that is due to the fact that the reason as to why they only did 2 models was because of fear of further support for them, not because they were that hard to make

Cause new races announcement are big and sell expansions. Whatever you can think what you want... we'll find out soon enough. I don't think they will announce any new races/genders before then and that's my opinion. You can disagree and hope for something else.

I've been in this boat from the get-go- even if devs do decide to do the opposite races they probably won't start working on them until 5.1, which would allow (at best) a WIP cameo in the later parts of the expansion a la Yugiri + Fran.




SE isn't going to say a direct "yes" or "no" this early, even if they have decided internally. SBR hasn't even launched yet. A yes would rob 6.0 of something to play up for press/player hype. A no could end up with another wave of player anger/negative press before 5.0 goes live. Don't get me wrong, I am disappointed that they have yet to even give a fluff response, but a reply along the lines of "we're looking into it" or "we'll consider it" are what we can hope for at best.

I hope this isn't the attitude they're taking towards it, because it's this sort of thing that led them to string us along in the first place. Saving things for the sake of thunder and hype two years from now is a pretty bad choice when people are leaving now and you could get them back with a simple statement.

I would love to come home from work tonight and see reddit, twitter, tumblr, and the OF on fire because Yoshi confirmed male Viera next expac. It would be nice for the fans, yes, but to shareholders and beancounters its a waste of good press, and good press = $.

There are other important matters than worrying about male Viera. They're still in the process of splitting datacenters and that 5.0 actually is working without the necessity of emergency maintenance.

I feel like they may make a statement in the May live letter. I don't believe we will get them until the very earliest in the middle of the expansion but most likely 6.0. I personally don't think its realistic to expect earlier. As long as the come at some point I feel like they heard us.

Ehh. The same I could say about people hoping for opposite genders, or rather male Viera only, at patch 5.1.

I was just pointing out that time is pretty short and working on a gender that has no real appearance will take a lot of time. Lets not forget that dev teams start working on the next expansion already, or lets say that Yoshida is planning the 2 next years ahead.

I would also rather have male Viera be polished and with proper texture/physicks than being half-baked added. But thats just my opinion. Also would appreciate if people could be a bit more realistic.
