SE needs to add the missing genders, and add a new small race. Its unfair that Lalafell are the only small race.

Then our game will be perfectly racially balanced.

My sister was saying an insect race would be a good choice. Very different and yet plenty of ways to make them humaniod. Especially with the new beast tribe and our mothy friend. You don't see too many insect PCs in games, and it would make sense to make them small. I'm thinking if they have to go humanoid they could do something more praying mantis. Which could also be cool because then the females should be slightly bigger than the males. I mean, I'd be all for a race of winged humanoids where you had a moth clan and a butterfly clan and they just hovered at "standard eye level". I wouldn't think the bodies would have to be anything more than shrunk Hyur or Elezen so that would make modeling gear easier.

The lalafell are definitely the most left out when it comes to size differences. I sort of doubt they would go for another race though. There's a good chance they will end up unlocking their gender locks, but that won't be until they have the resources and time to do it. Which is going to be more like late 5.X or 6.0 at the earliest. There's also a chance that they could have more time within 5.X overall since Eureka really didn't end up being as great as they had hoped and the reason for it really was the developers were bored of making Relic about going back to do old stuff. If they decide to do something more like 3.X relic in 5.X then we could see resources moved in different directions. However, with them already saying these might be our last races, and already likely going to see the pressure of doing their "other halves", that's basically adding another one they didn't expect.

If they did add another one it would have to pretty much use an existing frame with like no modifications to anything other than the head. Which is why I think some small, flying race would be easiest because it would be like... big pupilless eyes, antennae, and wings. Don't have to do anything to the body so you could just take every Midlander set and shrink everything 65% and be done. Not as different but at least would cut work load some. Unfortunately I think the Lalas are going to be stuck being the only little race. Adding a new race isn't really something you would do as an injection to bring people in either. It's too much work to take on unless the game is still in it's peak, and if we saw another race it would likely be 7.0, which would be 4 years away, and that would be around the end of the initial FFXIV model (as conceptualized earlier). Very good chance the game will go on beyond that, but that's also going to be a point where we are likely not going to be at a race adding financial peak.
