Bravo, not all hope has been lost you can tell the difference from real and not real, I started to believe that nobody could tell the difference anymore.I’m vegan, have been for eight years. The ethical position of veganism is to avoid harming, killing or otherwise exploiting animals for human purposes. There are no real animals in ff14. Only code. Therefore no animals are being harmed.
Honestly, if they really manage to have issue with it, then killing all the digital animals is probably the bigger concern.
But they shouldn’t. Because it’s just code.
People keep mixing fictional and real life together and its becoming a super huge problem now days.
The food effect rarely make the difference between the clearing and not outside patch week. To make food better it would need to be part of the meta 8 weeks after a patch. And at that point who is using food in pugs
Eorzea people also have options to choose vegemeat, soymilk, and fake leather.

Not true at all, I've lived plenty of AoEs with 1-2k HP, that HP came from food. I've seen plenty of 1-2% enrages that could have been avoided if everyone had food. You're assuming people will play perfectly, but that's not how raids go for the majority of the playerbase.
Depends OP, I'm I allowed to wish for a girlfriend on these forums?
You're good at the game? You're an elitist.
You're using a parser to better yourself? Elitist.
You're making suggestions on how someone can improve themselves? E l i t i s t.
You wipe a farm party constantly but you're having fun playing your way. Nah you're fine dude.
This community astounds me at times.
Why would you even care about such useless subject?Honest question. If someone identifies as a vegetarian/vegan in real life, would they refuse to eat animal products in XIV too? Would they be able to level culinarian at all? What about gear that appears to be made out of leather?
I ask because I have a vegan friend I'm trying to recruit to the game and wasn't sure if this would be an issue for them.
Sorry didn't meant to be disrespectful if you want tell your vegan friend that the game platform works over a code source that give the world this shape but the animal NPCs do not represent the real animals they are just based on the real animals forms so is as if she/he will be hunting a representation of a non existing animal, the only that literally represent real life species are the minions or mounts.
Unlike some other MMO FFXIV does not have the system where your character has to eat/drink to stabilize their character HP bar so your friend doesn't have to worry if he/she feeds his character or not.
