Did you notice the quiver? It looks like a flute or clarinet of sorts..Hmm... going to digress a bit but, I just noticed the horn on BRD's waist. So they get a Barp and a horn? Sweet!
Link to hi-res.
Flute was in the concept art... Maybe they can use it.

Very good find with that quiver. It may just be a design element due to their profession being musical, but having access to multiple instruments as such with different animations would be so sweet.
Take a minute to look at the gear design for all the various classes in game right now. Take a look at the atmosphere of Eorzea. Each Final Fantasy title has a unique design palette. Now, take a look at the Job AF gear. They are quite clearly thematic and quite removed from the rest of the gear choices to represent the iconic, classic jobs. Yet, at the same time, they are designed in detail to fit well with the current palette.I could explain that I'm willing to put more 'work' into this than I may have led you all to believe (basically anything short of having to do a raid and depending on low drops + competition would be alright), but why should people who think that you have to actually work for simply being able to look like a Final Fantasy character be appeased? MMOs have come into a terrible sense that they should "belong" to the hardcore or something.
I'd understand your annoyance if I was saying I wanted full AF gear with good stats effortlessly, I'm saying I just want the robe, I would even take it at a stat PENALTY.
That right there gives these iconic gears a distinction. It makes them desirable and meaningful.
What you're asking for can be likened to asking for counterfeit items. You want the looks, but you don't want the quality. It's pretentious and misleading. Not to mention illegal.![]()
In other words, all power and glory unto the Hardcore and everyone who doesn't measure up can wear rags.

Do I detect an Occupy Eorzea movement in the making?!?!

Job quests start at level 30 and progress to level 50. One every 5 levels. If you can't solo level 30 quests at level 50, gods help you...

lol.
Don't feed the ridiculous hardcore vs casual debate bulls#*t anymore than it's already been fed. If you think doing a line of quests to unlock iconic job gear which signifies that you have that job is hardcore then I have nothing more to say to you.
You can continue to hear what you chose to hear.

Hi Cephei! Lately I seem to be the thread devil's advocate here.
On the aesthetic level, I would love to be able to wear one of these costumes. T'would be nice if there was a level 30 set to be attained. And a level 50 set balanced alongside endgame gear.
No, you are the one to mishear me.lol.

I'm all for unlocking the classes, and waiting till 50 if I must.
However, some seem to think that the 'iconic' look must needs be kept out of reach of those who don't raid and don't want to grind low drop rate bosses. That's who I'm objecting to.
Anything short of that and I will accept it.
This is not 'gimme free stuff,' and honestly I do think, as Fiosha just said, a level 30 set would be nice.

The AF gear will not be based on a drop rate. At least not the initial set we unlock when we unlock a job. It's already been confirmed that the job quests will reward job skills, weapons and gear. No, you are the one to mishear me.
